This can be more disappointing than someone being deceptive with their pics. If they are good people though, you at least leave feeling you really have made a new friend, which in itself is very worthwhile. | |

Well I reluctantly met her in person, and needless to say she was nothing like her "description." All she did was waste my time and hers. For me there has to be a physical attraction for that first meeting, and at least if you see a recent photo, you will have some idea if you are attracted to the person. | |

I don't post a pic for my own reasons (I'm a little monkey with glasses) but I will supply many different pics to someone I feel that might be someone of interest or a friend from the forums to put a face to the name.
I will give this piece of advice again if in doubt ask for a picture with the daily paper in it or an object of interest. Chances are they will have to take a recent pic to comply. Well then if they don't such as in your last case just be honest and decline.

Absolutely floored by the men I meet, compared to their photos. Unrecognizeable!!! I like to think that there is more to a person than looks, but even I have my limits. Show up in jogging pants, gained like a hundred pounds since the photo, have no teeth, COME ON!!!! Why waste my and your time? Ready to give up on this site. Damn! Post what you are. If you have no money, job, car, prospects, teeth, ambition, then post that. Don't waste my time. Sure there are men who have met me who weren't thrilled with me, but at least I am honest. Honestly, and ready for the flack from people, but the men I have met, are more like the ex's you dumped. Not what you want to date. I think I am very open minded about peoples looks, etc., my best relationships were with people I wasn't attracted to in the beginning. But out of respect for myself and whom I am meeting, I always shower, put make up on, dress well. When I meet someone who couldn't be bothered, tells me a lot. If they can't be bothered for a first meet, what does that bode for the future? And, sorry, not all people I have met are guilty of this. Met a lot of men who did take the time to present themselves well. Just in a pissy mood after the last one! | |

Posted: 1/14/2006 12:06:43 PM | What bothers me is the fact that those of us that have pictures on here that are truly who we are today (okay, my hair is a bit longer and straighter and that's all), are doubted due to those that use the older photos, etc.
Granted, there are those that can't afford webcams or digital cameras. Also, there are those new to the computer that don't know how to utilize certain hardware/software, etc. I don't mind using my webcam to prove that I'm legitimate. I just ask the same of the man; however, I know that not all people are computer savvy. Thus, I do tend to try and be more understanding in certain situations.

If we talk and get along famously.. then meet. If we don't like each other, life goes on, Right? Some people try to deceive but do it without malice...yet, there are those few who are deliberate.

Posted: 1/14/2006 10:46:37 PM | One of my pics is older, but I think shows some of my personality because it was taken underwater with me wearing a tourist version of a dive helmet. I think I was a 36 when that was taken, I've been as high as 44, and I'm currently at 38 -- so I don't think it is that misleading.
However, I find it "Ironic" that one guy has three different pics of three different men and none are of him, by ghis own boasting. | |

One thing to keep in mind though, not everyone takes a good picture. Some people have a spark that only comes out in person, some don't know how to manipulate pictures with photoshop, there are deceptive people out there. Don't let it stop you, there are honest people out there waiting to meet, even if it's just a one meeting thing, you may develope a friendship with this person or it may go further, but don't set your whole hopes up on a picture.

Some people do not have pictures because they don't have digital cameras or scanners. I have several pictures that I send to people when I write them, and most are recent..two are a few years ago and just playful pictures that show me with longer hair. However, I am upfront of which one is recent and how old the others are. I am AVERAGE BUILD...but if I were to put my weight on there, it would not represent my body. I am fairly large chested which causes me to weigh more, but wear a size 10 jeans. I work out, and have muscular legs, arms, etc...but because I am 48, I do not feel I should put athletic build...(due to my big chest not being so freaking perky). HOWEVER, most of the people tell me I LOOK BETTER IN PERSON than my pictures...actually had a dinner date last night that told me that I needed to find a better photographer as he thought I WAS MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN MY PICTURE...he may have been wanting something....LOL..no, he was a very nice guy. I sometimes put my pictures on to be rated...and men rate them pretty high, and a few ladies...but then some women do give me ones or twos...like the hot bodied guy said. BUT, I don't keep my pictures up on my profile as I like to send them to who I want to talk to...they are always attached...Sometimes I get bored and just like to have them rated for about 5 minutes or so...then yank them back....THANKS FOR READING!!!!!!! | |

Pictures can be deceiving i heard of a date that turn bad after a few pic exchanges the guy show up at star buck limping like long John Silver did not disclose info about his missing leg.

Posted: 5/18/2006 11:41:50 AM | At 1st I wasn't even going to put a pic up, atleast not for awhile, but decided, what the he!!. So I found the most recent one I could find and threw it up. It's less than a year old, and it is really me. LOL
I donot take many pictures, if at all. That one, as you can see, my friends snuck it in seeing as I am never on any photos. And it's the only one I could find except for one that's a few years older than that one.
I have been thinking of getting a webcam though. Mostly to talk to friends who have one and I figure it might be fun, though I think I may get bored with the novelty eventually. But also, I am clueless about webcams, though I am sure they are pretty simple. Anyone care to help me out wiith this? LOL
People say, "you don't have a camera phone? Everyone has a camera phone these days". Well, no, I don't have a camera phone. I have a Blackberry which doesn't have a camera attached.
And while I can and have met people without a pic, if I see that they lied about what they look like, or if they do used a fake pic, I am probably not going to trust them at that point.
That's like me saying I am 6' 3" when I am really 6' 9"m LOL I think she might notice. | |

Any pics I use aren't planned coz I dont like having my pic taken, they are just a spur of the moment thing. A lot of the men too have "designed" photos, the ones taken at the last min with a mobile are the worst dont you think?
Its everyones insecurities that are comming out (i.e. have to make myself look the best I can), well isnt that the way eveyone thinks? | |
