Posted: 5/10/2008 4:26:44 AM | i dont know which profiles you are looking at. And as you can't post them here ( don't try. you'll be banned ) I can't look to see for myself.
However, all the women in my neck of the woods look just as they do in their pictures. Going on just subjective terms, one woman was even more attractive in reality than what you would guess going by her photo. Most likely, knowing me, it was her personality that made her more attractive in my eyes.
Maybe the percentage of women in NB who believe that they must fudge their photos or lie about their weight or whatever is LOWER than what is commonly found elsewhere. We are a decidedly down to earth bunch of people.
From reading the forums, one could be forgiven for concluding that everyone is 7.5 cm (~3 inches) shorter than what is stated on their profile, 14-22kg (~30-50 pounds) heavier and 10 years older.
THis would be wrong to apply it across the board to New Brunswickers.
Maybe you all should move over here.. . no wait... then my success rate would plummet.... stay where you are....

They seem to get your attention by using older pictures.
I cant really argue with that coz at least the last picture is recent.
The ones I hate is the one who puts up all old pictures then you meet her and think her mother has turned up !
What ever happened to plain old honesty ?
I really dont care how someone looked 20 years ago, even I looked good then !

Posted: 5/10/2008 6:38:52 PM | I'm sure men and women are equally guilty of this. I have met, in person, probably 8-10 men from POF for a first meet. Probably 3/4 of those men stated they were average, and the remaining few said "a few extra pounds." Well. Every one of those men was a MINIMUM of 40 lbs over average, and several of them had me surrupticiously (sp?) checking the place we met in for a portable defibrillator! (I say that only because of how they huffed and puffed with the slightest physical exertion, such as standing up after a meal, not because of the weight itself). I can handle if somebody is on the heavy side...but geez people, you can't claim to be average and then think I won't notice the 7o-80 extra pounds you think you're hiding by wearing black! I am on the heavy side...in my profile I had "bbw" but was told by every respondent in my profile reviews that I'm not heavy enough to put bbw, and to change it to "a few extra lbs". Come on folks, recent pics and some honesty please!

I have a set of beautifully done pics of me and they are one month old. Done by my good friend who is a very good photographer so compared to my own pics they make me look a million dollar.
If you see them now you would think I am lying about these pics but I am not, my hair is longer there, I seem much slimmer on these photos.
IMO photos show nothing really.
I went for over 10 dates last month and no a single person looked similar to their pics.
Some of them looked much better ;) | |

I have seen Princess Diana on here (even though she is dead), Natasha Henstridge (Actress), Kylie Minogue (Singer), Catherine Oxenberg (Actress), Sissel Kyrkjebo (Singer), Ewa Sonnet (Polish Beauty/Singer), Oh, and Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex in the City). I see them - I challenge them - then they disappear "POOF!"
This site has it's share of goofy people without the outright deceivers getting a foothold also...
Since I am a guy and only searching females, I can't speak for famous men on here. | |

I have no qualms about showing myself (face) on cam for the right person. I personally don't believe in showing body shots as to me this is something for the right person, and I'm not a show piece or wanting to attract the wrong attention

For myself, when I take picture's I always look bigger than I am. I guess that is the reason why I have not had any luck in my search for Mister Right. | |

Posted: 9/16/2008 10:52:30 PM | My photo is only a few weeks old but it isn't good. This post made me realize I should put up a better one. But where do I get a better body. :) Oh wait I don't need one I am just interested in meeting people not dating. But I do think it would help people recognize me better. If I ever do decide to date and care what the guy thinks of my image I will make sure it is very clear. That is very good advice.
As for weight well I don't think fat is beautiful but I am fat. Rotten genetics. But I don't like being fat. I wish it would go away faster than it goes on. But I don't want to lose it cause some guy will like me. I am just sick of how I feel physically because of it. I have had guys like my big behind but I just told them I would mount it for them and they can stare at it all day. I hate it cause it makes getting on an airplane so horrifying. Ever been overweight and got stuck in the middle seat next to another overweight person or people who won't let you raise the separations between the seats. Well I have and it is painful. I guess I should tell people my clothing size so they know I am not small lady except in height. I don't want the guy to think I am a liar.
I am not being sarcastic I realize I need to be even more up front than I am. I just didn't think I was but I suppose my bad picture could convey that message. I know I wouldn't like it if the person's profile seemed like a fiction.

And as far as getting grabby on the first date, that guy has no class yikes! I dont' care if your a supermodel, your not putting your hands on me in a familiar way unless the chemistry's right and your both at that comfort level. Most people are self conscious about their looks. When I say most I mean everybody except monks, priests, and nuns lol. If someone excludes a person forever from their life, never gets to know them, , or judges them for it, I think that is wrong. We all want to be beautiful, and we are all beautiful in someway. Look deeply into people, it's there.    | |
