I am thankfull that there are honest people out there who are unafraid to be nice it makes me happy to recieve a compliment and I think it is important for people everywhere to understand that others find them atractive even if they have a hard time with their own image. Nobody knows our imperfections better than ourselves and it is realy nice to see some thing positive from some one else even if they are only telling the truth as they see it. We are getting veiws and very few poor comments so I realy hope this thread takes off.
thanks to every one for the nice comments and to heavyas well for his er objective outlook on things

cheers
Cosmo.

at one point I was 6.5 lbs but have never realy wanted to go back to being a 6.5 pound guy again we all looked great at some point to ourselves anywaybut I think we have to say you know what, I look good now too ,and there is someone out there that thinks I look great and when we meet, look out world we will be unstoppable. If we did not truly feel that way would we be on a meeting site at all ??

cosmo... you have a very kind heart indeed. if more people could find the positives in each other like the folks in this thread have... we'd all be much happier. it's so easy for people to critisize and complain about EVERYTHING... but when's the last time you were actually kind to someone or complimented someone or even told someone's boss what a great job they did for you? no one is promised tomorrow and the world just doesn't need to be filled with so much hate!

and for the ladies posting in here... YOU GO GIRLS! we're all hot and they can't stand it ;)

Hi Cosmo

I love this forum and been avid reader and this is my first time time writing..Congratulations Cosmo for having a positive approach to weight, how you see yourself and its really no one's business to judge someone. I think beauty comes from within and we all can't be Pamela Andersons and Chippendale in life, and nor do i envy someone else life to want to be similar to them. Cosmo stay true to yourself, you shine on your own, and shared a positive comment, and that takes courage. Too many people go online to find that perfect person, and make snap decision or waste someone time, since they don't fall into the Hunk or Barbie doll catagorie. We are unique, special and have something to offer each person, and if they're shallow or they're not into you, its better to move on, knowing you have a heart an soul.

welcome smitten and thank you your compliments make my day brighter I think this thread is going to be a good one I look forward to seeing more of you on all of the forums and for your first post I thank you there are lots to choose from and I am very happy you chose this one .
yes sometimes it is hard to find that perfect someone online because people can mold who they are ,you can't judge apearance, reactions to things you say, or even simple body language but I think we can be honest and find that person at the same time . As you say if they are that superficial it is better to move on .

again welcome and thank you

exactly...love yourself...be happy with what you have...count your blesings...look in the mirror and say one great thing you love about yourself every day.

i went to an awesome course called CHIOCES and helped to teach it too..its founded by dr phil mcgraw...and thelma box. If you are familiar with DR PHIL you wil understand.

Its all about chioces in life..and changing you life for the better. It helps to have a life contract..you have to vision yourself as to what kind of person you are..and also what kind of person you wish to be.

for example..my life contract is:::

IM A WINNING WOMAN INSPIRING OTHERS TO FIND JOY AND HAPPINESS IN THIER LIVES.

i run that through my head 10 times a day...and man oh man did that ever get me through tough times.

think of one and let that guide you..it works great and makes you proud of who you are..and gives you a boost all day long.

Hi Cosmo and everyone else!

This is my first post and I just had to write to thank you for starting it, Cosmo! It takes guts to go against the flow of society's pressure to be perfect.

As you can see from the pics on my profile, I am most definitely a BBW. I am also very short! But then good things come in small packages, don't they?

It has taken me a very long time to accept myself as I am but I'm finally at a place where I can believe a man when he tells me I'm beautiful because I know in my heart that I am.

I, too, find myself attracted to larger people. I was just talking to some friends about this at lunch the other day and they looked at me as if was nuts. What can I say, it's my preference. It is what it is and who's to say it's wrong. It feels right to me.

I've read a few of the other threads dealing with this topic and they are quite depressing. There are so many people who are mean and judgmental with regards to their preferences. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but unfortunately some people like to cram their opinions down other's throats.

So, once again Cosmo, thank you for starting this thread. You are a beacon of hope in these forums. I'm glad to know that there are people like you out there that are willing to delve deeper than the one's appearance to their soul below.

Cheers,

Curvygurl

Curvygurl thank you for the kind words and choosing this as your first post as well yes it takes guts to go against the flow but the end results are definately worth it . I think it is great that we all learn to accept ourselves for who we are not how some shallow person I probably dont want to know sees us, yes some people out there are mean spirited and judgemental but so far they seem to respect this forum for its nature as a positive thread I think this shows decency on their parts. There is no need to thank me for starting this thread it is a thread that needed to be on this site,I simply pressed a button and started it .I was frustrated at the content of the other threads and realised hey these guys are entitled to their opinions just as I am entitled to mine . Your pics look great I am happy that you are willing to share them.many lack the self confidance to do so ,partly due to self image and partly because some people can be very mean it is exposure to these jerks and jerkettes that I believe sets us back the farthest in our own self image . so I say, We look good, We should be happy and We do deserve someone who will love us for who we are.

thanks again for posting it takes guts as well .

I look forward to seeing you in other forums as well.

Cos.

cosmo...i have all of the paperwork from my course..letters and cars form my students i have councelled..( over 100) and when i am down..i read them.

I had ppl litterally wanting to kill me i was so hard on them throughout the course. Its very intense counceling and we rip you apart and deal with crap put it on the fire and burn it.

If you have seen dr phil and how he treats his ppl on his show ect..you will know how intense it is. The ppl who hate you the most and are sobbing or screaming in pain..are the ones you remember the most. They think of you as thier hero..the ppl are so broken so screwed up or have chains on them 30 yrs old.You help to break them..and make these ppl realize they are worth of love....of having friends..that they can do anything..that are not worthless they are beautiful.

It takes lots of strenght and patience to deal with lots of ppl. But i was a trainer..and dug me heels in. I got flowers...letters..phone calls and the best thing was coming back 3 months later to see my students train too...they are like my kids...IT IS AWESOME!!

So..if i feel down..i open my heart shaped box...pull out all my letters..and think
WOW..IT TAKES A REAL AMAZING WOMAN TO HAVE EFFECTED THESE PPLS LIVES SO MUCH.

and boom..i feel better right away!!

alura I like what dr.phil does he is honest direct and to the point you are a very good person to take the time to help others, so many today are so caught up in their own life they truly can not care about others and while this saddens me. People like you and many others on this site make my day shine. True good is the good you do for someone else I think. It makes me happy about the world my son is growing into, which some times looks so bleak there seems to be no hope . but it is the good people out there who make a difference which truly does matter,to the ones who need it most.

cheers and thanks for dropping by
