Could be that I haven’t crossed paths with the right person or that I have and we missed each other!
I wouldn’t say I choose to be single but it has it’s benefits, I guess life’s about choices and if you don’t like being single then you can chose to do something about it (not always easy I know) or not. | |

I think when we are younger we are able to accept most people for who and what they are and are willing to compromise much more. As you get older, one isn't willing to compromise so much anymore and one is more set in their own way of doing things. Not that I'm saying I am unwilling to compromise, but I am not going to change who I am or what I believe in just to be with someone. I'm also not going to be with someone just for the sake of being with someone. I would rather be happy and single than married and lonely and miserable. It's ok to have higher standards. Why should we settle for less then what would make us happy. For women, being strong and independant scares a lot of guys off. What do you think? | |

Right now single isnt bad but i would dearly love to have someone to hold someday in the future. But thats all in the cards as they say have to wait and see i guess. Whether the implication is something must be wrong with u... don't buy it.... there is nothing wrong with being independent self assured and alone because it is better than being attached or married and miserable~
I hear it constantly.... and honestly the proof is in the pudding .... once a workable relation appears and the right individual then the questions fade to black. | |

At least not one I like.
My dating scenarios:
1. They like me but too much too fast without getting to know me. It doesn't feel sincere and they smother me to the point I just let them go.
2. I do like them, think there awesome and can so picture a future there. Alas, the reason they took the time to get to know me is because they are actually emotionally unavailable and undateable.
3. I like them, they like me, we seem on the same page and like we both know what we want only to have them do a 180 out of the blue. This seems to happen mostly with guys who have a lot of baggage. | |

So, my version...I'm not very attractive, I assume people see me as ugly, I've got acne, I try too hard (someone told me that one), I'm too intense, I'm insane...I don't know, guys just don't like me in that way and it makes me cry.  I'm 30 and have never had a boyfriend or loved anyone. I think I figured out how but have no one to practice on. | |

Posted: 5/5/2007 11:55:35 AM | i work in customer support for a company that runs 24/7, and that schedule tends to clash with people on a more sane monday to friday 9-5 shift.
i also admit that after 34 years without marriage/divorce/kids i see no point in settling with "mr. you'll do" out of some irrational fear of being alone. i guess i'm picky. but it's not about looks or anything shallow like that (i'm certainly not perfect by any stretch)...but if i'm going to spend time evolving something deeper with someone, there's got to be some fire and a common outlook on life to use as a foundation for building more. i'm a kinda non-vanilla, non-traditional type...so sometimes finding that match is a bit challenging. | |
