Posted: 2/16/2009 1:03:01 PM | Being single isn't a choice by me, I had thought I met the right person in the past and had the rug pulled out from under me. Soon to be 34, and living with my unemployed parents does not help. I wish I had siblings, that would make life easier.
I have heard the question, "So why are you still single?" no one wants to hear the bad stories. I've never been married, I have no children. I was engaged once. A one-year relationship here, another one-year relationship there, then a 6 year relationship and 5 months before walking down the aisle, she decides to jump in the sack with her best male friend and pursue a dead-end relationship with him.
So.... I'm still single because either I made bad decisions that have put me in this situation, or I was just dealt the bad cards. I guess you take a risk in relationships. I took those risks, but didn't have an insurance plan. Lots of money just flushed down the toilet.

I would also like to recommend to you The Secret: www.thesecret.tv - just trying to introduce some positivity in your life. The bitterness you put out into the universe DOES indeed echo back to you. So don't question why THEY are attracted to YOU, ask WHY are you ATTRACTING THEM?

I meet plenty of people that I like, and that like me.. and that I will/would date, but after a few weeks.. or months... I see things I don't want to live with. Or wont.
Or sometimes, even things I'm willing to compromise on, but the other doesn't want to work with me. | |

I get asked this at every family gathering and have been asked it for years...I sometimes fantasize about giving a truly crazy answer - just for the reaction.

I would rather be single than be with someone who is a bad match or just to be with someone. I like my own company and can do for myself anything that needs doing ( I mean like cooking, cleaning, laundry, bills etc., shame o you Naughty minds) and don't need another person to complete me. I was married for 5 years and doubt that I will ever get married again. I am one of those people who learns the first time not to stick your hand in the flame again because it hurts. i don't feel the need to own or possess or be owned or possessed by another person. | |

One day God will send the right man my way but until that happens I'm single by choice. I did have a great marriage for 14 years, we had 3 wonderful children but he passed away 16 years ago. Sometimes I wonder if you only get one chance in life at true love...if that's the case then I guess I had mine. | |
