Posted: 3/30/2009 8:02:14 PM | Well, I was envolved very young in a relationship that ended when I was 34....dated for several years. Then I met a guy dated lived with and got pregnant and we split up.
Honestly, I miss being part of.....but I like doing and going as I please. My son is now 6 y/o and I am just getting out there again. Who knows what I will find but he will have to be the right fit for "US". | |

Posted: 3/30/2009 8:38:33 PM | beats me why im still single..but i tell u what i been single for over 10 years now, and havetn complained, i never smoked, drink rarely, have a full time job, a truck, and an ok lifestyle, always lived by the law and good to kids and families. yet hey the ladies turn their noses up at me...thats cool i turn around and be thankful at what i got, not what i dont have...
guys listen, i was not single by choice but its what is laid out for me.
so just be cool, be happy and have confidence, she will find u when the time is right, even if it takes your whole life....it WILL happen!!!

The truth is people that are hot or not still have to work at relationships. Sometimes people just should think about what their saying and if they slip and make a mistake then they should be able to laugh at the situation. You know its kinda hard pouring yourself into some e-mail that you might or might not get a response from. So after that doesn't work then comes foot in mouth syndrome. lol.. Sometimes we need to laugh at life's little blurbs.  | |

Posted: 3/31/2009 2:53:10 PM | i love being single...absolutely LOVE IT!!! i love learning new things about myself...without the aid of a significant other. people are blinded by the media, religion etc..that says something must be wrong with you. well really the issue is their uncomfortable being around people who actually like themselves. I'm not saying that people in relationship don't like themselves..but i've notices that 8 out ten people think that they have to be in a relationship to be happy. i've met people who've been perturbed by the fact that i love being single. who cares what anyone thinks or questions...if someone is questioning as to why your single..it's probably cause their envious that you have the guts to be on your own and enjoying every minute of it.

I couldn't agree with you more! I never in my life have been asked so many times "why are you still single"... Quite honestly, the thought never occurred to me before the men started asking. At one point, it made me actually start questioning why I WAS still single!! Fortunately, I got a grip quickly, and realized that it is totally okay that I am single and have stood my ground and not settled for less than what I am worth. Now, this may make me sound like a ****, which I totally am NOT, but it's true! And a man would not settle for less than what he's worth! I just figured I would rather be alone and content than miserable and in a rotten or boring relationship! I think that question should be banned~! lol  | |

I'm single again because my marriage was built on mutual lives spinning out of control rather than love and mutual respect.

For the past 2 years in community college, all the girls that I made the first move on, took the initiative, and asked them out, were either taken or not interested. Also I could be looking in the wrong place, because almost all the girls I have pursued were girls that I met in community college, at my school, I don't have any other place to meet girls in person besides school. Well most recently I turned 21 about three months ago, so now I can go to Bars and Clubs, but usually those places are more for hook-ups and one night stands, nothing serious. I don't have a lot of friends, the friends I have are not very outgoing either, they don't know a lot of people just like me, so like I can't seem to meet girls through people and through friends, because obviously a lot of people meet their future boyfriend/girlfriend through their friends, family, like a friend of a friend, etc. | |

So i thought about it for a while and realised, i'd always wanted to persue my pool (american, uk) career. Never had he chance and now i have. But why on POF you ask ? Cause whoever / when ever i meet someone they can accept me for who i am. But i know you have to realise that when right one comes a long, sacrifices may have to be made.................. if and when !

I have my own car, I don't ride a bike like he does in the movie, I am a licensed driver, I have insurance. Also that part when he meets that drunk woman at a bar, and he lets her drive the car, I am not that stupid, if a hot drunk woman was coming on to me, I would not hesitate to drive her home. I never knew so much prejudice against never married people existed until I became an active forum participant. It has been enlightening and disheartening, as I never have thought that my value as a person revolved around the facts that I have either been married and/or become a parent. Anyone know of a site that is specifically for people who have not been married? | |
