Then I realize that the area of the country that I live in has a predilection towards "family" being the center of people's universe. Why the idea of a family consists of a husband and wife with 2.5 kids is someone elses problem.
As for the answer as to why I am single.
1. I was goal oriented on getting my education and getting a career.
2. I wanted to get a home to call my own.
3. I haven't found the person I am willing to spend the next 50 years of my life with.
I don't think there is something "wrong" with me. I do think that I get tired of doing things by myself. I don't mind paying for a date if I am the one to initiate the date. I really would rather go for coffee than for dinner the first time we meet and I will most likely buy my own. :)

2. My wife left me for another man after 4 years of marriage.
3. The last woman I was seeing for 10 months, who told me she loved me more than any woman before died a few months ago.
4. I'm unique.

Posted: 7/18/2009 4:39:24 AM | I left my last boyfriend (of two years) 9 months ago because he is one of those men who was really badly burned in his divorce, and just can't truly open up to another right now (for the aforementioned and other reasons). I've never been married or "burned" anyone, and I think that my staying with him enabled him to stay stuck. I also feel I deserve an honest chance.
Other than that, I'm single most likely because I am an idiot. | |

It seems that those things get old to a woman. It makes them appreciate you much less because you are catering to their desires. In every relationship I was in, I made sacrifices and went without so that they may have. The end result was always the same. They ran to a man that would make them work for his attention. The last one left me 15,000 dollars in the hole paying for her car, phone, student loans, feeding her, clothing her, and whatever else she wanted or needed. She ended up leaving me for her boss. Now I am interested in ME time. I want to take care of myself, be selfish of my time. I gave all I could and got a kick in the @!(& for my trouble. So now, I am dating, doing what I want to do. Not having to answer to anyone, and feeling great. | |

Enjoys hiking and riding bikes and thinks I am adorable and I think the same about him..........then there is a possibility. But why should I stop being who I am just to be in a relationship? Why should I give up what I enjoy and pretend to embrace the things a lot of the local men enjoy and which I abhor?

That doesnt exsist, but happyness deoes, and they have squandered happyness in the search for the unavailable. Ive also met some nutters, and people who to be fair just didnt end up clicking with.

Posted: 7/23/2009 10:58:20 AM | Ok, I am single and have been for 2 years after a pretty bad break up, I didnt accept the break up for a long time and needed to get to a "happy place" with my life before I met someone else. I also wanted to have some me time and spend a lot of time really getting to know my children and not have to make sacrifices because I had a partner to worry about.
The last 2 years have been a rollercoaster, and the downs matched the ups in so many ways. But if asked would I have taken the ride knowing where I would have got to in the end - HELL YEAH! And looking back now - I dont, I am really pleased with what I have achieved and also proud of my family. On a selfish note now is the time I yearn to meet someone new and see if there is the right person out there for me. Will I find them........who knows??? But I am gonna have a blast in finding out  | |

I am easy going, independent and smart. I mare sure the maintenance gets done on my car, I mow my own lawn, I do my own house repairs. I am not sure if that intimidates guys or what.
