The question "Why are you still single?" is silly and insulting. Nobody asks a married person "Why are you still married?" The question seems to assume that there is something wrong with being single. There is not.
Thank you sir. Those were the words I was looking for in an earlier post on this thread but didn't know how to express it.
The sad thing about it, though, is when the question is asked how many single people suddenly feel compelled to have to justify themselves. Like you said, if you were to ask someone, "Why did you get married?" "Why are you divorced?" "If you're divorced why did you get married in the first place?" as if implying there is something wrong with it the person in question would very likely get annoyed, if not downright offended.
If there's people out there who can't comprehend the fact that being single is a good thing then there's really not much you can tell them.

Funny but I didn't notice that on the ballot last election day. When was that law passed? Did you vote for it?

Posted: 9/10/2009 11:59:53 AM | Well I know one of the reasons I am still single is that I didn't date for 3 years so I was out of the game for a time. I've been actively looking for a year now and haven't been dating much. Sometimes I get discouraged and feel as though sometimes men are looking for some very young, skinny, blonde girl. I know I'm cute and curvy, but now I'm wondering what's going on myself.
I'm still out there trying though! | |

If you are fat and ugly, you better hope that you are born a woman or you will never go on a date as long as you live in the US! Dating is an absolute joke for women. It is a lot easier to reject someone than to approach someone. I don't understand why based on the quantity of men that women have access to why they complain about not finding the perfect man. How could you struggle in a game that you dominate? The answer is that they (the women) are more selective than men.
So a woman should not be single because remember the dating game is a complete joke for them.
I agree with you, it is a lot easier for them to not be single. However, my reason for being single and not married (which is not a bad thing now) is a lot more complicated than it being due primarily to women's total control of the dating scene. | |
