re:sissybabble, post 27 Interesting post, to say the least. You might want to add this exact same post to the "If America Is so Bad" thread. But then you'd disturb many comfortable illusions, and be called a conspiracy theorist--anything to plug/stop the genie of truth back in its bottle. Me also thinks that you are trying to mitigate the current situation/administration with 2 wrongs make a right logic. Try that bone on another dog. Now maybe you can see why Al Quaeda attacked that infamous day (and NO, I am not justifying what was done that day for god's sake--that in itself was a crimial act). You have certainly buttressed the far left's argument that this conflagration (and many others for that matter) is/are/were about capitalism and the logic underlying it all. Innocent young men and women sacrificed and innocent civilians killed and maimed on the altar of privilege and the maintainance of wealth, all cloaked in the political rhetoric of "freedom" and "democracy", and "patriotism" and "weapons of mass destruction", etc etc, etc. Clearly it does not matter who is in orifice, they are nothing more than lackeys for the capitalist class. Maybe you can see the basis of that "looney" social critic Noam Chomsky's claim that if the Geneva conventions were applied, all the Presidents of the last 50 years would be hanged. It looks to me that you could probably go back further. But maybe this is too much for you to digest--so lay it on me--I'm a "conspiracy theorist", right? Then again, you have at least admitted to knowing far more than most defenders of the status quo here--I say good for you. They cling tenaciously to the sorry excuses that the war criminal administration have spun. Doesn't that clearly indicate the power of ideology? The one about no WMD's in Iraq? the one about bush lying to invade? The one about foreign torture camps and innocent prisoners? Murdered prisoners? ***************************************************** I can make 2 changes in the entire scenario above and it will be applicable to any administration which was in office during any conflict/war. 1. Change WMD to simply weapons and/threat .... replace Iraq with Japan, Germany, Korea, etc. etc. and dating wayy back even to America - re' the Civil War. Covers Repub and Democ. run Presidency/Congress. 2. Change Bush to Kennedy and you have covered both Repub and Democ. As for torture camps, innocent prisoners, murdered prisoners... that is the case with every single conflict/war. And, to say that what's going on now with Iraq is any different, demonstrates a lack of knowing history. So, you're saying: 1) All administrations give WMD's like biochems to murderous dictators like Sadam? 2) Kennedy lied to invade a nation? 3) We had secret torture campus outside the US in every war we've been in? I'm sorry, but I don't believe you. (Weak responses here don't count)

If you feel my response is weak, don't count it...that's also fine by me.
