| Would you Canadians move to the U.S,Would you Americans move to Canada if you met someone on here? Posted: 8/29/2007 6:32:56 AM | | I have just taken a friend of mine to the airport who has been my summer house guest to fly back home to Canada. After hearing all she has to say about living in Canada (the laws and how the goverment is there) no I would not move to Canada to live, but yes I would go for a visit. In fact my friend is coming back in May 2008 to move here because she liked it so well and she has been in Canada for over 50 years.....what does that say about how she views the two countries? | |

Posted: 8/29/2007 11:01:20 AM | | there are some native land claim disputes right now, so if she is also native may be why she's moving, but no one contests that the weather is warmer in the US, although in summer it means more extreme heat, in winter it can mean less winter, unless you say what exactly she complained about it doesnt reveal much about what she thinks of the two countries. Beware of us Canadians using you for your weather! lol

| can/us Posted: 9/2/2007 1:01:12 AM | That's right Jeff. Message 775. They don't give a rats ass about YOU. Ask a fireman/police officer suffering from the effects of 911. That is if you can get over the (ignorant) Canadian pofers. LMFAO. OR Jeff. Ask someone who made a claim on their medical insurance. Hey Jeff. Ask someone from New Orleans how they feel about the help they received from the fat cats in Washington. I do like the fact you are angry Jeff. Now just focus it in the right direction. :) We Canadians see alot more from the outside looking in it seems Jeff.
I thank you. | |

Posted: 9/3/2007 7:13:30 AM | | The United States even with all that may be considered wrong, is still the best country in the world. I have traveled through Canada, at least to areas above Montana and the Dakotas, very nice country, of the five different times, three in a pick up, once in a Hippie VW camper mini bus, and once on a motorcycle before I met my ex, the best 24 days I will ever spend on a motorcycle.....that is unless I fell in love with a canadian lady and she would want to try it on a bike and visit her friends and family....but we would have to live in the states. Every person I met in Canada was very nice and pleasant, only met a few that spoke french, Ay

| Would you Canadians move to the U.S,Would you Americans move to Canada if you met someone on here? Posted: 9/3/2007 8:31:06 AM | That's a big question! I have a business that can't do without me right now, and a daughter just entering her teens, so, if the woman of my dreams was in Florida and could not move here...I'd have to endure heartbreak and move on. I like to keep my commitments, when I can.
In regard to the differences between Canada and the USA - I find that "Wherever you go, there you are." The biggest differences between Canada and the USA are not as life-defining as the 'you' in the equation: optimistic, outgoing, pracmatic, caring, creative, energetic - if you are all thse, then you'll find a 'great community' wherever you are. So if it weren't for the stuff up above - absolutely I'd move to the US - or to Peru.
Canadian weather? I'm originally from Canada's Arctic - where most Canadians live (within 200 mi of the US border) is balmy!

He wouldn't be my ticket in either... My profession can take me anywhere I want to go, that is my security blanket. I've heard too many horror stories about men wanting to be with a Canadian woman for citizenship. I'm too independent for that... And if you want me for the dual-citizenship.. you better be a Sugar Daddy! Cuz I don't come cheap! But all in all, I just need a change... Warm climates make it quite attractive I must say, specially after the winter we had....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. WELL. When you americans grow a spine and stop letting big business rule your lives. IE. Please take my civil rights as I am soooooooooo vewy scared for my safety. :) AND. Take back your country and your liberties. AND. Start backing real people and become informed about politics. AND. Grow a brain. AND Start becoming informed instead of watching the latest reality show and eating yourself into obesity. AND quit buying yourself into debt do us part. You may need help understanding this last suggestion. Duhhhhhhhhhh. :)
Well, this might be one real reason I would not want to move to canada. I have seen many of your posts. There is a fine example of a man from montreal on here, that goes by that name, and if he is the example of men in canada, I would consider it. But I do really hate the cold, but being from IN, I get both, frigid cold, and the ungodly high humidity, and heat. But prefer the heat. Of course the ideal situation would be to live in a climate that was moderate year round, but can that be found anymore?

I appreciate the diversity and general open-mindedness of its citizens. People there seem to be more conscious of more esoteric things like holistic healthcare, metaphysics, and healthy living in general and don't seem to be such a media-influenced culture like ours. I'm from Boston so I could adjust to the cold, no problem.

| Would you Canadians move to the U.S,Would you Americans move to Canada if you met someone on here? Posted: 5/13/2008 1:50:47 PM | | No. I was in a LDR with an american for almost 8 months. Not once was it even questioned that I would stay in Canada. For visits, sure, I'll go to the states. To live there? No way. No offense to americans, but I refuse to give up what I've got here (free health care, my family, my friends, my whole life) for a "chance" that it'll work out. Besides, she wanted to get out of the states forever anyway, so it worked well for me. | |

Posted: 5/13/2008 3:02:40 PM | Americans dont realize that most other countries think we are fat, not that educated, and spoiled. They are probably right. Canada is way too cold for me, and dont tell me it isn't it is. But I bet not to many Canadians would want to come here.
Terrible economy, paying some of the highest taxes in the world while getting so little in return; worst STD rate of any first world country in history (25% of teens), a health care system that makes HMO's rich while we pay higher rates; a school system that is one of the worst among first world countries.
The most violent first world country in history with more gun crime than anyone; A 51% divorce rate and its worse for those living together. yea the U.S. is awesome.

Posted: 5/13/2008 8:33:36 PM | Even though the U.S. is a beautiful country with many advantages for the average person.........I would never move or want to live in the U.S. Part of it is familiarity with this country Canada in which I grew up in. Another part is my patriotic views on Canada and it's people................it is the greatest melting pot of cultures. Another part is that I just love building Igloos in the winter.
