| | Have you ever fallen for someone on the net?? Page 7 of 7 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) | | A few months ago, I would have said no. Although I know several married couples who met online on the same game, nothing remotely like that ever happened to me, which is not very suprising given the male-female ratio on the games I played. However, one day there was a little bit of a crisis, and this girl and I tried to resolve it. We grew fairly close during the process, and I guess at some point I fell for her. She acted oddly when I complimented her, and didn't appear to enjoy it. If she lived within driving distance, I might have pressed the issue and asked her on a date, but she didn't. Unfortunately, we had an argument and do not speak to each other anymore. | |

....We have e-mail and chat at our finger tips... We don't speak or hear, the other person's tone of voice... We don't even see, thier facial expressions to our comments... We only see, pics that are placed in their profile awhile back... Not only that but, we have to spell out... in type, are emotions...
.....Essentially, just with the writing, alone... Both you and the writer are communicating at a different or much more deeper, level...
Gerry286, that is one of the most brilliant explanations of why the online attraction happens.
It really is all about feelings and communication. When facial expressions and vocal intonations are taken out of the equation, all that is left is the raw emotion. That is why in the centuries before us, there were so many love letters from one person to another. When it is written down, the person sending the letter can be clearer in their thoughts, and the recipient of the letter can understand the conveyance of the thought.

| Have you ever fallen for someone on the net?? Posted: 3/7/2005 5:27:58 PM | Kit , you're a hottie ! I fell in love with a woman on the net, spent thousands to fly where she was and send my things , it lasted a year , and I had to spend thousands to start my life over, heartbroken. there is a possibility , but if you meet on the internet , one word of advice is when you get together, ditch the comps , they will be a source of insecurity until one or both of you die. | |

I thought I did, ........I fell for someone that wasn't honest, .........still isn't. She blames the premise, avoids being responsible for the deception, .......not even honest with herself.
The next time I'll look harder for the "red flags", .....and I'll aim higher, not settle for just an expression of need. | |

| Have you ever fallen for someone on the net?? Posted: 3/9/2005 10:37:06 AM | You bet...that's the good news. It was a great summer. She flew in from Oslo last May, and spent the summer. The other news was that she was well established in the Norwegian art community, and I can't make a living there.
Too bad, but we all make choices.
