~ Oh you guys are so musshy...hehe. The greatest act of Love is ..... When he gives you his credit card and tell you what's his is yours and what's yours is also yours ~ That would be amoung the greatest acts of LUST!!! ~
When you hear the word “rich” do you think of money? Do you itch to be rich like a playboy bunny? There is far more to our lives then wealth and money. Our good health is the wealth that makes our lives sunny. Your life can be rich in flavor like bee’s honey.
We look good with fine jewelry and in elegant dress, with vivid rich colors, we express and impress, but what is our great packaging worth, more or less? It’s our rich beauty that I would like to address, but it comes from within’ and is hard to possess.

| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 1/31/2006 10:17:47 AM | | Well the greatest act of love.......kinda like a hard one here but here it goes. There are many different circumstances in which I believe everyone has the opportunity to show an "Act of Love" to others (be it a stranger or a loved one)...I guess to show love in the "greatest" way is to ...always try to treat others in a way in which you would like them to treat you. You lead by example ....so the greatest act of love will always differ between an mother and child...a husband and a wife....friend...enemies. I dont believe that there is any way to measure the act itself, but what I do believe is that it comes from within the person. You can see a homeless drifter on the sidewalk and give him a hot meal and he will believe that to be the greatest act of love and then on the other hand your brother may need a kidney and you can donate one to him....and still the measurement will be the same. So I truely believe that the greatest act of love does indeed come from your heart truely no matter what the act indeed is..as long as it is received as genuine and from the heart. Anyhow that is my take on the question at hand. | |

Love should be unconditional and always open to truth and honesty on both sides.

Yes... it is always hard to let go and the act of letting go does give way to a greater love then to try and hang on or entrap one for selfish reasons.

How about adopting and loving children that are not your own!!!
Perhaps it's not up there with laying down ones life for another, but how many can claim that as being the greatest act of love somebody showed them. I've considered it and for me it's a great act of love!!!

| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 3/23/2006 6:39:19 PM | I'm going to quote a song here and say I would definitely "love" to actually feel this way about someone:
"If you should die before me, ask if you can bring a friend...."
Gives me chills everytime I hear it.

| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 3/23/2006 6:49:48 PM | | The greatest act of love--for me--is the wonderful little gestures all the time. A loved one being kind and thoughtful once in a while is way cool. But to be kind and thoughtful day in and day out for years is the greatest act of love a person can bestow on another--in my opinion. | |

| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 3/23/2006 8:59:32 PM | Hey Tall
what i think.
The greatest acts of love would be to understand when the gift of love has been given, how you take care of it and the ways in which you return it.
So many times people have all the important things right there in their hand and instead of holding on to them like precious glass, they crush them, drop them, put them aside...never quite understanding the power they were given or even what they have done. Sad.
I think the internet allows for people to be more cruel than they would ever dare be in real life.
I think there are people here really seriously wanting to find love. I think there are people here who are so seriously damaged they create only pain.
After reading some forums posts, I believe I will never find an act of love through being here much less meet a real person to go with it.
I think I should not think.

|
| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 3/24/2006 3:11:58 PM | I would totally have to agree with Tall on this one. I am an adopted child myself and it's about the sweetest unselfish thing my parents did. They had 3 girls of thier own who were all married and not living at home anymore then they decided to adopt 3 more kids. I have 2 brothers from Korea and then there's me. I hold my parents deeply in my heart and always will for them doing what they did. Adoption is a big thing in my family. My sister also adopted a baby girl from Korea. I think it takes special kind of people to be able to love a child who wasn't thier own. Thanks Tall ! It was the greatest act of love I could have ever experienced.Nothing can touch that ! | |

| The Greatest Act of Love??? Posted: 3/24/2006 5:19:43 PM | I stayed in an eight year brutally abusive relationship 7/24 for one reason. My son. So he would have a father that loved him, knew him, cared for him, talked to him and, when he was to young to fully understand, but old enough to remember, stood up and knew how, by example to have backbone without a lot of attitude.
Love is many things, but the greatest act is always in the loosing of it. Not for love, nor it's ideals, but for oneself as a sacrifice.
That is why hero's die for thier loved ones and friends. Why men shield thier wife and child during a home invasion, sometimes fatally.
I think the greatest acts of love are always selfless. And are often uncertain, painfull, and full of loss.
