What a good example of GREAT love!!!
VVV

I am an adopted child myself and it's about the sweetest unselfish thing my parents did. They had 3 girls of thier own who were all married and not living at home anymore then they decided to adopt 3 more kids. I have 2 brothers from Korea and then there's me. I hold my parents deeply in my heart and always will for them doing what they did. Adoption is a big thing in my family. My sister also adopted a baby girl from Korea. I think it takes special kind of people to be able to love a child who wasn't thier own.

Cherokee, Thanks for sharing and that is one of the best examples
of a "Great Act of love..."

Anybody second me on that one?

Being cuddled by the woman I am with. Cuddling is the warmest feeling on earth, like no one can break it.

The greatest act of love is life itself.
Love is the single most encompassing force there is...and the only thing that can truly capture its power is life itself.
This is why he died for us.This is the message he left us with. When I finally get to thank him personally for all of this...I will be crying.
So,for you and I...I think there is something to be said for tears. A tears' significance cannot be over-stated when "ranking" acts of love.
BTW: I love ALL OF YOU!!!!

What's the greatest act of love you could every exsperience?

Beyond a doubt the greatest act of love I have ever seen is a lady who is knowingly risking her life to bear the child she loves. I'm humbled.

After very difficult circumstances which I won't recount here, It would have to be my very young son looking up at me with his big blue eyes and saying my place is beside you mom.

for me, my dad has done the otmost. He took me in pregnant, and helped me till i had my son since the dad wasnt there. he came to all my appointmentsa and even saw the last ultrasound before i gave birth... it was a couple days b4. He to this day, helps me out when i need him and wouldgive anything to make sure I am ok.

He also took me in when my mom didnt want me anymore and he learnt to raise a young teen into a woman and then into a mother. Man, he even bought me my first tampons LOL!!!!!

but no matter what, my dad stood by me and he means everything to me.

I think as a parent, when u sacrifice for your child, it isnt hard because when u truly love someone, u always make sure they are ok and thatthey come first.

Dear Cherokeegirl:

What a lovely message you posted! As the mother of an adopted child, I can only say that it makes me heart swell with pride and yet at the same time I'm humbled that adopted children think so highly of adoptive parents.

I can tell you that adopting my daughter, Tara-Lynne, was the very best thing that ever happened in my entire life. I knew about her 6 months before she was born and was able to follow the pregnancy from afar. I knew the night she was born, and was able to pick her up right from the hospital when she was 4 days old. God blessed me with such incredible gift...I love her with everything in me.

Her Dad and I had gone through a failed private adoption less than two years before and we just figured that God had someone even more special in mind for us...and we were right. She looks just like my Mom and my brother and resembles me in the blonde hair and blue eyes. She and I even share a rather rare blood type....how odd and how perfect is that? She's been blessed with a beautiful personality and face, intelligence and a great sense of humour. (She should all be so lucky!)

My daughter has told me many times over the years just how grateful she is to God for placing her in my arms and heart....and there she'll always remain.

The ability to love someone else's child isn't in everyone but for those who possess that ability it's a God given gift...as is the child. I'm so glad that you, too, were placed in one of those wonderful families. May God continue to bless your life.

My favourite quote to my daughter: "Always remember, you didn't grow under my heart - but in it."

hmm The greatest act of love is unconditional.acceptence of who you are with .The need to see them happy, The sacrafice of yourself of your life for theirs.
to want to meet all their cares
to make their lives the happiest that it can be.
But women don't like that anymore. To them that is weird.
lets face it if you do something like that.Since it's out of the norm. They will wonder why you are so weird. And drop ya in a heartbeat lol.

Greatest Act of Love:LIVING WITH ENTHUSIASM ---> Living your best life now and being excited about the life God has given you. Living in the moment and enjoying it to the hilt. Not waiting for some extraordinary happening in your life to be excited. Not settling for a life of mediocrity. Living to give and choosing to be happy. It is the faith in ourselves that activates our love for others!

Peace

The greatest act of love....... true, unconditional love..... both the giving and receiving..... and in order to receive it, you have to give it... to yourself first, tho.... becuase it is only once we truly love ourselves unconditionally, that we can attract it, and that we can give it to another.

I am fortunate enough to finally have that in my life, and it is taking some getting used to.... the other nite, we were supposed to have a quiet evening watching movies with the 10 yr. old..... well, we got the wrong movie, so had to go back to the movie store to exchange it.... then, the 13 yr. old got sick (btw - she was originally supposed to be at a sleepover) ... she sat right next to us, at the computer, sniffling all nite.... then, the 18 yr. old phones from work, her b/f can't pick her up at 10 pm, so can we?.... sure, no problem.... then, as we are leaving to get her, the youngest throws a tantrum because she can't come with us.... and on the way, the oldest one's b/f phones to say he is picking her up...... AND... when I apologize for all of this...... he just shrugs it off and says he knew it was a package deal.... not a biggie to him...... to me, this is the true showing of someone's colours.... unconditonally.
