it's a lot easier to deal with the thought that "Someone Else's Child" (cause we ALL know OUR children won't have sex untill they are married) is having sex with multiple partners at 10 years old then it is to believe that this may be a fabrication of an anti-sex education gov't that will gleefully revel in mass destruction, and homicide on the 7 o'clock news, but panic in the face of a piece of anatomy that every single person has, and has seen, being bared for 3/4's of a second during a football game at 9 pm.
After all "Dr." Phil (who barely qualifies as a high school guidance counselor let a lone a "dr" says it is so.. (except where is his source) Oh yeah the same ratings seeking producers who put this into a story line for a fictional police show.
Do a Google search and all you find is
1) A wikipedia reference to how this is complete bunk perpetrated by Dr.Phil/Oprah sensationalism caused by a book review on a book Titled "Rainbow Parties" which is actually a educationalised novel to expose the flaws in an "abstinence only" sex eduction policy of the US.
2) The Oprah/Dr. Phil web page which discusses this "phenomena"
3) Pages that reference the Oprah/Dr. Phil Episode as "proof" of this.
Hmm, seems like a very SHORT list of cites, which all lead back to a FICTIONAL education guide in a novel form.
ITS FAKE, or at least it was untill parents started freaking out, and asking their kids if they did this, giving the kids the ideas to DO this... this still makes these occurences isolated.
For those of you who don't understand what i am saying here... maybe this will be easier.

What's sad, I have those bracelets...I thought they were cute...and they match what I'm wearing. I had NO clue what they meant...kinda grosses me out now. Guess those are going in the trash real fast...no wonder younger guys give me perverted looks when I go out with the girls!!

Chances are within the next year or so they will be bought by some porn producer or the other
as to this "game" it may or may not be an issue depending where you live but NO child who is properly raised would take an active part in such a game excepting of course the inevitablle exceptions! I'm sure we have all gone to school with someone who's sex drive was so high at a very early age that they could not refrain from having sex.

Get real people, It's being done. You can choose to stick your head in the sand and say its not happening or a urban legend. But the proof is in the pudding. Look at all the knocked up girls in high school. As for religion keeping kids straight. That is another parent with his head in the sand. Good girls do it more than bad girls, because its a thrill to get one over on their parents parental controls. | |

HMMMNNNN I remember WAYYYYYYY back the many variations of spin the bottle, Bullsh1t, and dare we played and the things I learned between 11 and 15.
The fact that in the late 70's early 80's my school was putting in a nursery.
The fact that almost 20% of my Jr High class didn't graduate high school......and only 2 that didn't were guys.....ALL the rest were girls that had dropped out to give birth.
And still had three girls finish with children.
Three girls in my brothers 7th grade class had kids
The fact that when our parents dropped a group of us off to camp for the weekend in the national park as young teens..... that we were hiking five miles in to the "goat roast" which would have 40 -100 kids (both sexes) from 13-20, beer, weed, moonshine and lots of "extracirricullar activities"
And I lived in the MORALITY ZONE....... and we were considered prudes by the city kids.
I think we were much more discreet....... but the game has not changed

Where I grew up we were actually raised rather prudish. My mother actually sat me down at 19 and asked me if I had kissed my girlfriend of 8 monthes yet. And got very angry when I said "where?"
But it is hard not to be curious or experiment when you see sex happening all around you every day (rural community many animals) and everyone hollering it's a sin. I can tell you that some of the MOST well raised boys and girls I knew growing up, got straight A's in carnal knowledge 101.
And I was playing in a national religious orchestra from age twelve and traveled abit and saw much of the same across the country | |

I have not heard of it happening here. My sis's children said they get those rubber bracelets as a reward from the teacher for reading books. I asked if they were for anything else, (of course I didn't specify what I was thinking) and they said that they were for reading. Now I am not sure exactly if they had a knot in them or not, but her kids were sincere. | |

That we will have a generation of kids that will grow up to be bitter in relationships and confused about the place sex holds in a healthy adult relationship because they played "games" with something that adults have trouble putting in proper context. Yes, sex is natural, but there are so many things- health, safety, emotional- that go along with it that these kids are just not prepared to deal with. How many of these kids, especially girls, end up feeling resentment or negative feelings toward themselves as sexual beings and the opposite sex because they got in over their head?
I don't think kids acting on this kind of stuff is as common as it may seem, a lot of it is show and trying to LOOK cool, but the fact that it is happening at all worries me. I don't believe in trying to force kids to be virgins until marriage, but just that they don't have sex until they are mature and ready to deal with the consequences and fall out.
It just goes to show that there is never a point in a kid's life where you don't have to sit them down and have a version of "the talk" and that you can't put your head in the sand and think "not my kid". | |
