I'm willing to bet it is.
Unfortunately, there are many keywords that trigger scam filters, Ghana, and Nigeria are two that I'm pretty sure will cause auto-delete, ...I'm sure there's more. | |

Old news, without exception those whiners are banned forum trolls/rule-breakers.
When your profile gets deleted, does it automatically ban your IP address?
Returning forum trolls and sock-puppets are banned for life..
Having more than one profile is a good way to end up complaining about "They deleted me for no reason".

Without exception? Really? Reading the reviews stated on there it didn't sound like they were on here long enough to be a "Forum Troll"
I think I do get your drift. If 2 people use the same computer, and each create an account, their accounts would not be deleted, because "without exception" only the "right" profiles get deleted.

Well, believe 'em if you want, if you really do, this is probably not a site you want to be on.
I think I do get your drift. If 2 people use the same computer, and each create an account, their accounts would not be deleted, because "without exception" only the "right" profiles get deleted.
You mean bald photoshop'd comic book characters ?

I've actually been here nearly 2 years, had my other profile accidently deleted, and like late said, just put up another one. Any site has an occasional glitch or technical problems that may not even be the fault directly of admin. He is running this site using electronic equipment and electronic equipment fails now and then.
As for your other comment, I've never seen any of the mods responses' even close to that. Rather, they usually give a very detailed explanation and post the rules, FAQs, TOS over and over that we all agreed to and should have read anyway.  | |

If nothing comes up - then that's the extent of information one needs to know.
Adminstrative or User actions need not be a matter of public record, but more so on a "as need" basis if Admin warrants it. | |

If you're asking "Does someone know how to find out when or why an account was closed?" - then the answer is yes. Admin does, as he is the owner of the site.
If the owner of the account closed it, then Admin won't know why unless the owner left an email or a thread stating why he or she closed their account.
If the account was closed/deleted by Admin, then it was for a reason that does not need to be disclosed to the public and suffice it to say that it was for breaking the Terms of Service.
Either way, the reason for closure of the account does not need to be made public unless Admin decides to release that information on a need to know basis. If there is a valid reason why you need to know, then at his discretion, he will, if the reason to know is not a valid reason, then you won't need to know - i.e. "on a need to know basis"

when i try to find with his profile name, nothing coming up---just box., nothing writen.
If nothing comes up after you've searched, then this means that the account is no longer on the system.

I had a profile for almost a year as Brown_Eyed Lady and it was deleted. I have looked at your rules and I have never broken any of them. I reset the profile FIVE TIMES...last time as Brownn Eyed Lady under a new email account and now it is deleted too. Can you help??

When I went on to log on, it came up with the register page. And it kept happening so I kept setting up new profiles, because as far as I was concerned the old ones were gone (the system would not let me log on). So what do I do now. Can you reset my first profile Brown_Eyed Lady and delete the others. I have no idea how to delete them if the system won't allow me access to them. Thanks for getting back to me | |

Log into each seperately, and if one of your other user names appears in the login username prompt, overtype it with one of your other usernames.
When you're logged in, click on the HELP link at the top and select the appropriate link to delete your account. | |

Don't get me wrong - I totally love this site and I realize that Admin is doing the impossible - something that is usually the pervue of a woman - but if a person's profile does not violate the TOS and they are not given an opportunity to respond to the allegations made against them, is that really fair?
I have never personally tried to hit on a woman on this site. I have, however, run into some phenomenally ignorant people, like the 21 year old in Sudbury who is posting in a thread about HIV that anybody with a disease should be "euthinized" [sic].
Certainly my friend has a very frank, open, no b.s. way of "speaking", but since I do too I find it quite refreshing. Whenever a user has been an a$$ to me I have just blocked them - I did not even realize I could write to Markus to get them kicked off the site! After the flaming I took from one person relating to my events I certainly would have tried to get that person banned.
I have not even been able to ascertain if my friend is banned in perpetuity or for a finite period - and if the latter, how long?
Again I realize that Markus is doing the impossible, and the mods just have authority to deal with Forums and not profiles, but PERHAPS there should be some system in place to pass complaints on to the alleged perpetrators and give them a chance to attempt to resolve the issue.

| Profile in LIMBO? Does not appear deleted or hidden, but weird
Posted: 3/31/2007 8:01:08 AM | This is my first post in the forums. A very sweet man that I met here over a year ago just told me he can no longer log in.
He KNOWS his password because he is a frequent member of long standing... and had been online here on POF only hours before he discovered he could not log in.
But there is a very strange computer glitch!
His account appears to be IN LIMBO...
If you search his username, NOTHING comes up at all.
It is as though he is hidden...but he did not hide himself.
It does NOT say he is deleted (I have seen other profiles say "User deleted for: [long list of TOS violations here]" but there is nothing at all when you search his username.
If you do a basic search, advanced search or interest search, he shows up in the search results as being ONLINE THIS WEEK, but if you click on the link to his username...it throws you to a page of random profiles. 
(BTW, his picture is now missing on those results pages, but he did not delete it)
If he was a hidden account, he would not show up in a search at all, right?
If he was a deleted accout, he would not show up in a search either, right?
This is why he looks to be in LIMBO.
Another oddity...
IF he was simply hidden, all mail between us would be intact...
IF he had been deleted, my inbox would still show incoming mail with his profile name missing from them.
But neither is the case.
ALL my mail from him has been deleted...as though he had blocked me, but he has not.
Is there any way to reset his account password, reinstate his account, or at least get him out of this LIMBO state, so that he can still use his ORIGINAL profile name, so that all his 100+ friends can find him again?
I get the impression from reading this forum, that if he tries to create a new profile with the same or similar name, or text, he will find himself deleted again for having TWO active (??) profiles, even though one is completely inaccessible to him and yet appears to be "sort of" active because it is not completely deleted...?
The last time I remember seeing him online here was March 27, login time was 12:44 pm Central Daylight time...I remember because I had just missed him when I went on my lunch break at 1:10 pm. When I got home at 7 PM that night, my mail from him was gone, and I found him in this LIMBO state.
Also, he is living in a European country...not on the no-no list at all...and travels a lot with his laptop.
Could this somehow be a reason for the LIMBO state? Because he is not in the USA?
Other profiles from the 3 major European countries that he travels to the most are accessible just fine...
POF is my favorite site...and I miss chatting with him here.
Admin/mods, if you need his username, please contact me...
I already sent an email on the 27th asking Admin to contact him about this.
A very sincere thank you for whatever you can do to help this sweet fellow out...

I read everything I could regarding the rules, computering tricks etc.
Nonetheless, I could not login. I tried to send me a new password, but my email apparently "was not in the system". I did a user search and, of course, my account was not find.
My account existed for maybe..three days. I had simple, rule-following pictures, and I had sent few simple, filter-adequate, rule-following messages.
