| PROFILE: Profile deleted,- Why ?
Posted: 7/24/2009 10:40:44 AM | I awhile back had my profile mysteriously deleted,and I do think I'm a respectful,nice guy,so thought maybe a glitch.I used another email and was fine for 5-6 months then that disappeared also.Please realize I twice had been reprimanded for improper forum use,as an ignorant soul I mistakenly participated in a wrong state forum and the other offense wrongly in a incorrect country,oops,I learned my lesson and look closely now,I did not try to break those rules.
I kept an open mind and tried hard to find why,I faithfully read all the good advise given by moderators and fellow members yet in my case advise did not work.I let the first time slide and only deeply investigated at the loss of the second profile,but found I had no ability to do a forum to ask questions, also was puzzled as to if I had my first profile removed by site and even then tried to find any trace of myself ,I found none existed, even used the helper box of where you type your old email or handle and it tells you if your there.I was not,yet still each month received a "here is your matches this month " for both profiles.How could that be ? if no trace of me existed, . Also understand when your first deleted you are unable to login to even check,why,because its said your handle and password doesn't exist,its only by getting another profile that your able to check.
I now have had to get a MSN email address and start over and am walking on eggshells wondering when my account will or might disappear again.Even this profile started with glitches,it took 5 days before I was able to reply in the help forum section,it took 4 days before I was able to choose a favorite and have them show up.
I love this site,and am pleased to be able to enjoy it,and hold no one at fault,"stuff happens" and understand glitches happen beyond anyone's control and truly appreciate the members and moderators working so hard for no pay to help us,and I thank you,and so now wanted to share with management and moderators that sometimes the proper channels or the prescribed way of solving the problem doesn't work all the time .I notice a few times some say on forum "well if you were deleted then you must be a bad one or a troll,or some such thing"this many times is perhaps the case but not always.I thoroughly have read the rules of conduct and gave a wide berth to no-no words,and felt a strong sense of personal innocence .Hey fingers are crossed this time.
Question,if I paid to be here as a "serious member",and profile mysteriously disappeared or some other horrid thing happened would there be someone to ask why and help with the problem,or would I again be alone to wonder "Gosh what happened " ? | |

Posted: 7/25/2009 9:52:23 PM | | It doesn't get deleted. You are the only one who can delete your account. It will stay inactive indefinitely, or until you reactivate it. If there is a time limit now, I am not aware of it. | |

2. Nude/Inappropriate images - if you upload nude or inappropriate images, your account will be deleted
3. Duplicate/Fake Accounts - if you created more than one account for yourself or create a fake account, all of your accounts will be removed from our website
4. SPAM
5. Age - if we have reasons to believe you are under 18 years of age, your account will be deleted.

Since I was up late I looked at my profile and my about me has been deleted . There was no swearing or or harassment towards anyone or anything else that could be thought of as being bad or against POF rules . And since they took the time to delete my about me . I would think in there email they could be more specific . Hope someone Admin Mods or a member could shed some light on this . If this is the wrong area to post this can someone point me in the right direction Thanks BCbogbear | |

This site function on being automated not having hundreds of paid employees. Programs are running and searching profiles here for possibly illegal content.
Bottom line is your not going to get a personal note written over exactly WHY it was deleted. You use the links provided to research this yourself. Most can figure it out. Generally is is outside web links or email address's etc... or strings of numbers even date ranges like 2006-2008 can trigger it. Use the links provided and start reading.

Posted: 11/5/2009 5:55:45 AM | | Your entire section about yourself is gone,if you did that,theres your problem,if you did that,your not allowed to remove the section that is the section that tells who you are .I personally read every link this site had and never found why I had been deleted,like they explain,it could even be a mistake,bottom line its up to you to guess.They are quite clear about that,that also politely say if it happened,stuff happens. | |

Posted: 11/5/2009 6:25:37 AM | I inderstand,and I understand both sides,at $30 a month you have a customer service and the other side,at a very good price of free,sometimes things happem by mistake or for very good reason,but without a full staff,one can only guess if all the links did not fit your situation.I understand,and gladly accept this glitch,if in his case it even was a glitch ! anyways I love it here and disliked the other pay sites very much so.
At their sites I was plagued by Nigerian and Russian scam girls,you know your being played when your 50 and a perfect model, 18 year old type proclaims her love at hello,and even though they had a staff,nothing was ever done,and every girl you turned in,continued to be on the site.I was even credit card abused where you cancel in writing then find 6 months later your still being charged and they refuse to refund your money !
Thanks for your site,glitches happen and so does magic,it goes both ways,bottom line,its worth it ! | |

So if its that automated you would think , admin could at least use a user id that indicates that it came from the automated system , not a real live person. So I will have to keep a copy of my about me . So if it happens again at least I can review it , and see if there was any violations . And I did read all the faq's that I could find on this subject .
