Maybe I should just stay with webdate.com along with this site and give up match.com again.

Im on match.com right now... did it last year and got decent results. this time around ive noticed a lot of fake profiles women claiming to be in the same city but they are in africa or russia or imediatly claim they are out of the states but will be back soon ya right.
When i do one of my saved searches out of say 30o matches at least 200 of them say they have been active in over 3 weeks.
to anyone using match.com if you see someone with a profile that hasnt logged in in 3 weeks dont bother sending a message they are either a plant by match themselves or they are long gone.

If match cleaned out all the inactive profiles they would probably go out of business because they wouldnt have enough profiles on the site. the best thing to do is delete your profile right before your membership is over.

I will staying with it. There's a report a concern feature on the site. It's more match making.

I agree with Linquatic, the free sights are great but if some one is willing to invest in their romantic future isn't that a bonus? I love POF and believe that many matches have been made in fishy heaven but why try to cheat the sites that you have to pay for, what is the point in that? No one if forcing any one to pay, it’s a choice they have made themselves for their own personal reasons.

But cheating the paying members out of money because they do not know a big proportion of the membership are unable to read their message is in my view fraudulent.

The are forcing people to pay to read their emails, the force of wanting to respond to an interested person is great, and they know this.

The fact that even if you pay you cannot really contact anyone (unless they happen to pay as well) sucks, and stops me from ever paying. Making their money twice on one transaction is dishonest in my view.

What a brilliant idea! A photograph wearing a t-shirt that says "Find me at www.pof.com! I'm wondering would it work though as they review your pics before approving them for display. But does a human really review them or some super clever software? Lol

Oops! Looks like the original post I got the idea from hasn't shown up so I can't give any credit to the person who had the idea. Oops #2 I've dragged up a really old thread. Oh well, hope it's still relevant and I may even get an answer to my question.

Happy Holidays!

Beware of match.com, as it is almost impossible to cancel your subscription with them.
It takes an eternity of phone calls and e-mails to finally get out of there again - and they are overpriced, too.

I've just signed up to Match.com and paid a bit extra on top of the regular subscription (I know, I'm a sucker!) with the promise of the perk that non paying users can contact me. Does anyone know if this means that they can only initiate conversation with me or will they be able to respond to my emails too?

Also when you're not a paid up member can you actually read received emails from members and just not reply or do you just get told you've got mail and you have to pay to see it? People seem to be saying different things in this thread (which, admittedly, I haven't read all of) . Thanks in advance all.

A) Match.com allows so many scam emails I am convinced they have some kind of partnership with the scammers for profit. I would receive scam emails from multiple (3) fake profiles in a day, report them, yet Match apparently did nothing. This sort of activity made me feel very unsafe. In the end I trusted few of the profiles to be genuine.
B) Match.com auto-renewed me twice though I'm 100% certain I did not set my Match.com account to auto-renew. Finally I called my bank and had my bank account # changed. Then I sent a final "Neener-neener" email to Match. Likely no one never read it, but it kinda made me feel better.
