I'm really not sure what's up with the better than I have mentatlity..but it bugs me to no end. I have NEVER looked at another guy when in a relationship, as anything other than a guy.

I wish more folks looked at it the way I do...but alas..they don't.

Maybe...the folks doing this...have settled to begin with..and they are always striving for what the were looking for in the beginning? That's the reason I don't settle...if I can tell straight off the bat that we wouldn't make a great duo...there's no reason to pursue it. My .2

Like any choice we make in life, it has consequences that have to be dealt with, negative or positive. Unfortunately this man may have just choked when they spoke of marriage and such. I have done that several times in the past and I know exactly how it feels. Unfortunately this woman didn;t feel like he was saying not ready right now, but that he just wasn't going there at all otherwise she woulnd;t have ran so quickly. Good luck to you anf this man... no matter which may this turns out

Just because someone has a positive outlook doesn't mean they are settling.

I don't think there would ever be a number 1 if you weren't thinking about a number 2.

that just doesn't sound right

what does commitment mean to you?....I need to know that. Guys, like me may call it something else but I think the meaning is blurred. I was commited once....yea u name it..wacko sister in law, drunk in-laws, wife that ran around who thought she never had a life and was god's gift to man....I was forced to live with all sorts of trying times and situations. But, guess, what I can be commited again. Next time around and I ain't looking hard I am sure as hell gonna take my time no matter how long it takes.....but I guess women like the status role...beats me...there u go commitment means status for them not men.

That makes perfect sense. Then again, I'm never looking for No. 2, I just no No. 1 is on the clock from the time we start dating

The "six weeks" clock. I haven't dated anyone for longer than six weeks during the past two years.

@YamI Well I wouldn't know (but I have my own suspicions) and never will now because you have converted me over to the dark side.

After six weeks? Hell no. It’s long before six weeks

Actually, it’s the first sign that “dating” is making a transition to a more involved arrangement. Really, that could come from a lot of things. I dumped a chick in late Sept. when she asked me why I had time to go to Pittsburgh for football games but didn’t have time for her. Anything like that, really, does it for me.

If a woman looked me in the eye, said it, and meant it--I'd ask her to marry me on the spot.

I don't mind football coming first but that would violate my number one rule

Ladies always come first
followed by ladies don't spit
