kloey:
I think she was more committed to the idea of marriage than the she was to her dudefeller.

More wiser words have never been spoken here at POF. Such impressive thinking and clear thinking from a young woman. Kloey cut to the chase right here. I'm not devaluing commitment to personal goals, but placing the value on the interpersonal relationship. Getting married for the sole sake of producing children seems so self-serving, I don't care who has this notion, the man or the woman. When emphasis is put on making the relationship better, the rest naturally follows, including marriage. If your partner is totally against the idea of marriage, SIT DOWN WITH HIM/HER AND INITIATE AN INTELLIGENT CONVERSATION.

If a woman looked me in the eye, said it, and meant it--I'd ask her to marry me on the spot

Summer... you have no idea who you're talking too... careful my man.

well it seems men can commit without any problem to football

reminds me of a fantasy I had once on how to distract during the game...

^^^ Note the word "fantasy"... cannot distract during game (unless doggy style is imposed) otherwise must be at 1/2 time. Awww.. c'mon Summer.. you know ya love me! At the very least I'll take a man who can commit to sports.

During a football game, my ex-wife walked infront of the TV naked, bent over, put her head between her legs, and then spread her lips apart (yes, those lips). It wasn't half-time. And that was OK!

The sport that I am passionate about is formula 1 racing .. and all the Televised European races are at 7:30 AM on Sundays. Hence, I have a big screen TV in the bedroom.

I am yet to date anyone who didn't try to distract me during the races. Must have something to do with early mornings and Sundays

Oh do tell why you didn't stay committed to her??? Isn't that what every man wants??

I'm unsure of how many people she did that with during our marriage. Two for certain. After that . . . beats me. It was 4th down so I had to punt her. Actually, she punted herself, went long, and landed in Detroit. Good riddance!

The men shouldn't take all the credit for it. Because if the credit is only ours, then that would mean . . . how did we figure it out? Oh, I don't want to think too long on that one.

Dang, squirrly, where has this been hiding?...Oh man, you guys are FN killin' me!

OP-I must admit I've done the same as your friend. I was only 23. She wanted to marry and have kids but since I have family around this country and they always have their door open, I was much more into running around and partying. 16 years later, while being an uncle 13X over, I often sit back and wonder about how things might have been if I had gotten married and had children of my own..I missed and loved that girl for many years after I left her, but no real regret..well, not unless I drink too much and someone I know is having marital problems and we're having a heart to heart sorta convo and..you know.

yes the key word is fantasy
part of the challenge
knowing it won't happen
but just a thought on what it would take to get the attention when someone was so interested in something else
it's all good

sounds like you just haven't found the right woman

And trust me, she doesn't exist. Like I've told you before, I'm way too selfish to share. Even the most understanding woman hopes to see you more than an hour or two a week.

@AI,
Football definitely comes first when you dish out the kind of money I do to have season tickets

LOL, well, that's in September, AI. I have six season tickets - 1 for me, 1 for my boy and two I get for my parents for Christmas every year and two I just don't want to give up and sell off game-by-game.
