Some people unfortunately hate themselves, and feel that by associating with someone of other ethnicity somehow imparts the social status of said ethnicity on to them.

Ive heard a lot of people put their mothers, brothers cousins down for the sake of looking good in the eyes of other people of other races. Although it may get them somewhere in the beginning it doesnt gain them a lot of respect in the long run. Self hate always backfires. There are ways of praising people without making your own look like rubbish. | |

I used to date black men all the time when I was younger but my preference has changed...I am not sure if it has anything to do with race really. I think it all depends on my surroundings in my present state of life...I am at University all the time, and I have changed my group of friends and thus exposed to the most beautiful, intelligent, highly educated Caucasian men ever:)
MY POINT : Not really about race. It's about who you are in the end. You change as a person, and therefore your preference changes too in time. | |

Well you can have them.....because us white men will stick with the educated slender white women. I always laugh when I see black men thinking they have any chance with a sexy good looking white woman and try to wooo her with such romantic comments like 'yo baby who ya daddy?' das riiiiight know what i'm sayin aiiiiiighht"

It's kind of ironic, because where I live, the situation is reversed. Way up here, in the Great White North, the "Jungle Bunny" syndrome is rampant; white women seem to throw themselves at men of colour, no matter what their personality, social status, looks ... whatever. Just last night, I had a girl come up to me and say "I just LOOOOVE black men. Mmmmmmmmm. Sexy Chocolate...." (WTF do you say to that? You would think, after hearing that for the last 15 years, I'd have a clever response) I wouldn't call this racist behaviour, more a personal preference based on watching too much MTV or sports.
These guys can be complete a**holes, dumb as posts, wearing ratty clothes, but they just smile and give a "s'up, girl" and it's off to the races.
I have relatives in the US, and whenever I visit, it's like we're in a different era. The issue of colour is far more prevalent than it is in Canada, and racism is far more overt. (Up here, it's far more subtle, and, I'm happy to say, fading away). The thought of cross-race mixing and misogenation is considered taboo and repugnant by both whites and blacks, and those that cross the line are ridiculed or marginalized.

As a blackwoman who loves blackmen, from a purely self-interested standpoint, it is a discouraging to know that they are likely to prefer white women - but WHY is this a black thing? There is not need to pathologize black men here. White men love white women. Asian men love white women. Latinos... you guessed it love white women. but it's only desperate or pathological when a black man behaves in the way that may have been influenced by the racist and paternalistic culture in which we are ALL steeping?
Blackmen are no more desperate for white women than white men are. In asking such a question, is there an underlying assumption that the national obsession with white women is normal when demonstrated by white men, but abnormal and desperate when demonstrated by black men? This is a dangerous road to travel – it takes us right back to the 1950’s - the fear that "buck" would be overwhelmed by his desire for "missy" cost many blackmen their very lives.
I think that there is a parallel national disdain for Blackwomen in this country. But that’s best left for another post. | |

I am not predjudice against huge girls and i dont mind a few extra pounds but they come off to me as easy... worst cheaters ive heard cause they never really had attention and when they get it, forget about it even if you there man these girls will go for it cause they hungry for the soul pole lol....
I date any race it doesnt matter but i dont like the part about brotha's being desparate for a white woman cause thats only in the midwest lol... brotha's know these girls will pay their bills but its not an out of this world attraction thang thats for sure. | |

Black women have always been beautiful, but now America is starting to pay more attention to and embrace that fact. Prominent black women and models have played a big part in making that a reality. We have Beyoncee, Halle Berry, Kelly Rowland, Tyra Banks. It's definitely a good thing. | |
