Posted: 2/11/2006 2:43:24 PM | | I made it back to Vancouver. Okay so I hear the skytrain is only a few blocks from fever. I have never been on the skytrain here..I know where Granville station is, a short walk from me. What would be the name of the stop I need off at, and which direction when I get off the train?? Also how much does it cost so I have the right amount of change??? | |

softballbabe..columbia is the station you want....and then walk 1/2 a block to the right along columbia street......i'll be on the train prolly around 9 or so mebbe see you there ;)
azncowboy IS my new best friend forever ( for those of you in the know BFF ) as the thought of my last fever experience......poor planning and no ride home for me....left me trying to find a cab at 3 am in new west...not as much fun as you may think ;) | |

Spud Helpers: Spud will be there at 9pm. We're counting on you!! so please find me if you are there beforehand. I will be there at 830pm.
Half Hearts: are located on top of the DJ booth in a white gift bag with kisses all over it. HELP YOURSELVES if you want to mingle and meet new ppl... 1 each! it doesnt who you meet (guy or girl) because you will costantly be getting another new heart. First come, first get. Remember once you meet the other half heart, chat, etc - you are to pass your half heart to someone new and get another.... and the cycle continues
Remember to have a great time and drive safe!
when you get to Fever's tell them you are with POF. You will get a wristband to distinguish you from the public. All DDs must talk to Cwolfy apon you entrance (he'll be at the coat check) | |

never had to stand in a line in over 30 years of DJing and managing clubs INCLUDING that one.
I realize the risks of running a bar now but when you have a private group such as the POFers special consideration should be made to move the group in quickly. After all, the faster people get in and order the more money the bar stands to make.... and that is the name of the game.
After the geat way the staff at 8 Seconds treat the people coming to their bar, I wonder why the Fever doorman has to be that way. Funny but I have never even been frisked at any club on Granville either. New West must be speeeeeeeecial.
And I looked forward to an evening of dancin' and spending $$$

Fire codes are there for a reason, and apparently it was a busy night all around. The times I have been to Fever, I have been frisked as well...get over it...now go practice your magic tricks and lets lose the negativity towards this great event.
edit...don't forget the telethon!!..my 100 bucks is in! | |

Posted: 2/12/2006 2:30:13 AM | The main reason I couldn't stand in the line was smoke... I have just gotten out of hospital with lung infections and asthma so even second, third or fourth hand smoke (is there such a thing) makes it very hard to breathe.
As for the derogetory comments about one of my lines of work... thanks... hope the brunchers enjoy your act and art tomorrow morning... I'll go do it somewhere it is appreciated... | |

The Owner Savvy spoke with me on the way out and said that he really enjoys our group as we cause no problems.. Thanks to everyone that came out and made it such a success !!! To all the Newbies.... please come out again !!!!

Posted: 2/12/2006 4:43:20 AM | I had a great time. Met lots of cool folks and danced my butt off. Ok , well it's still there (damn thing) but maybe it's a wee bit smaller after shakin it all night.
I did however lose my favorite scarf. It's light blue and I had placed it lovingly out of the way on the "fireplace". It was not there at the end of the night. It's special to me  so if you know where it went, please let me know.
Can't wait to do it all again!!!

PappaG....Firstly I completely understand about your problem, I too have asthma and can not be near smokers or second hand smoke.
But what I DON"T understand is why you would let a flippant comment that BCBoy made get to you like that and cancel your performance at the Brunch today. His comment is not the concensus from the rest of us POF'ers that were looking forward to seeing both you and your performance. And if you looked at the brunch forum, he is not even going to BE there!!!.... | |

They are a fantastic group.
As far as my comments go, sorry you can't take some ribbing...As far as the event goes it sounds like it was a blast..I have talked to some that were there, and they had a great time. As well, it was for a fantastic cause, therefor, negativity need not be discussed on open forum.
Bring it up with organisers personally, and maybe next time they can make arrangements around it.
Way to go people!! I am sure Variety will be very happy!! | |

It looked like there were more POF than regular clientel at Fever last night and the back room really wasn't large enough to handle us all.
It was nice to see so many newbees and those that haven't been out before.
Many thanks to those of you that set it up and did all the work so that the rest could enjoy meeting people and having fun. | |

Posted: 2/12/2006 11:07:39 AM | Thanks everyone had a great night crashed when I got home, met a lot of great people..however I dont remember their names, man I am bad at that.. however I will remember faces..
As far as the comment for the frisking, there is a reason behind that.... other clubs put in metal detectors, they frisk. Over previous years ... they've had 2 shootings where people were killed (both drug and/or gang related I believe). So I personally would rather see people get frisked and stuff like knives, guns etc.. be taken away then seeing something bad happen.
Hope all the newbies had a good time and will come out to other events. | |
