| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/22/2005 8:54:47 PM | All creatures on land and sea Can be tamed by man patiently But his own tongue he cannot tame Venom unleashing with deadly aim All the good we do is defiled When the tongue moves with words reviled Though it is only a small part It speaks mighty boasts from the heart It sets ablaze fury unrest Like a spark in a great forest The fist may bruise anothers head But tongues cause war with millions dead Setting man's course and destiny Echoing through eternity | |

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/23/2005 8:44:09 AM | | Ok the answer is the pearl ring of calabous the son of the godess Hesties, punished for killing the flock of flying horses created by the greatest god Zues (pegasus), zues kind of like god did to jobe, threw him into his own misery and made him unacepable as husband to the princess of Jaupa Andromeda. Hesties was said to have punished andromedas mother for saying that her daughter was more beautiful than the goddess, hence perseus came to save andromeda of course on the back of the last flying horse left the stallion pagasus with the head of the gorgon medusa from the monster of the sea let loose by posideon the cracken. For shorter version please rent the eighties movie Clash of the titans............. | |

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/23/2005 11:57:15 AM | I missed that one as well Cleo...Definately thought provoking.
Ok something short from something i read on another thread regarding deception
A little white lie harms none But you can't just tell one A white lie leads to gray And soon the trust will decay What a tangle mess we weave When we try to deceive All we have worked for is lost Loneliness is the cost

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/23/2005 12:02:43 PM | | Glad you liked it! I think that chivalry comes from everwhere and one of my favorite topics is ancient greece most of all the gods. My favorite tale of the gods though is the story of the nymph Echo and the prince Narcissus. I love the tale because the goddess aphrodite was actually nice in it and she's usually fueled by jelousy she allowed echo to remain as she was the goddesses favorite nymph but she was known to be so cruel in her jelousy as to create such creatures as the gorgon medusa. | |

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/23/2005 1:05:18 PM | It has been a while since I read Greek Mythology. I loved the Illiad. At first confused but second time i read it understood. Many times Mythology is not necessarily mythology but something allegoric which has a deeper real meaning that applies to our lives. The movie Troy really exposed the truth about Achilles. He was just a man who for a brief moment left his guard down. The past spun its course into the web of his destiny. A weak cowardly man brought down the mighty Achilles acting on the brief moment with his heart instead of his brain.
Yes....Dragonn I really liked your poem. Your words always seem to spin with the truth and give very wise advice. I read it three times already.

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 4/29/2005 6:23:28 PM | Another page waiting to turn What's in the next chapter to learn
Many thoughts have kept me adrift Waiting next wind to give me lift
Standing still at the crosslane Where two paths merge in sandy grain
Silence speaks with a loud voice When waiting is the only choice

Mighty Warrior
The test of our faith from life's obstacles Like seasons of time running in cycles We can choose to endure and grow robust Or surrender and wither back to dust
If one runs with footmen and grows weary Then how can one race with the cavalry If one stumbles and falls on the open ground How will one swim the currents of the sound?
If each time one's faced with adversity They give up to wallow in their pity Then when the tempest whirls with its fury The winds will snatch their souls in a flurry
But to seize the challenge of grizly strife Sharpening the skills in the walk of life Mighty warriors emerge prepared for war Grasping victory at last trumpets roar

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/4/2005 2:48:46 PM | Imprudent Animals
To walk in the truth requires sacrifice But the blessings exceed the burden’s price Yet many seduced by words of liars Masked with the pleasure that suits their desires Tickled by verses that tease itching ears That freedom comes wherever the rudder steers Enticed to a world of much excitement Consumed by the hope of false enlightenment Their teachers live by standards of treachery Leading the lost with myths and mystery They’re lovers of self, blind and ungrateful With no self control, brutal and hateful Luring the crowd promising liberty They themselves are slaves of depravity Gluttons of lust to whatever pleasures them Now enslaved to whatever masters them Herding the lost to join in their mission With flattering lips of sweet perversion Like imprudent animals of instinct Led to the slaughter forever extinct

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/5/2005 3:43:32 PM | In the center of the small village square Was a well of water for all to share The maidens gathered before the morning rise To fetch water from where the wellspring lies One fare lady often came just to boast And to scoff at the rest with hateful roast She viewed herself with beauty and privilege And bragged of the prince who showed her homage “One day I shall be a wealthy princess While all of you still remain penniless” One plain maiden with defensive retort “I love my man whether the money’s short” But quickly rebutted in sarcastic tone “Your husband’s a troll and you are his drone” The plain maiden went home with head hung low Empty feelings inside and tears that flow But when she arrived with thoughts insecure Her simple man met her right at the door Seeing her tears he embraced her with love “What is it my dear you sadly think of?” She stood there as the adoration grew “I forgot why, I just know I love you”
Now the fair lady with the words of spite Was whisked away by the fine prince one night They married next morning before the king It seemed like a dream when she felt the ring But soon she learned he had more than one bride So many that they often would collide Competition to be with him each night Frequently led the wives to a huge fight And although there were the riches and fame Splendor of having the royalty name Before long alone in captivity Enslaved to rules of high society Many years would pass as her beauty wanes Lost in a castle forgetting who reigns She would never experience true love Only a fantasy she could dream of Love cannot be bought with wealth or beauty It must first be given condition free Happiness is not an external state It’s an inner peace content with one’s fate. Outward appearance is only a glance To what is hidden of one’s real essence

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/6/2005 4:46:27 PM | Paradigm Shift
Though it’s good practice to use common sense And to learn from other’s experience Will we understand the signs of the time? And recognize a shifting paradigm Sometimes we need to think outside the box For there may be a hidden paradox Not everything appear as it seems And the common roads may not obtain dreams But if we choose a new route to embark As Columbus did sailing in the dark We may just find another world at sea And life as we know it changed abruptly

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/7/2005 8:05:45 AM | Thanks Dragonn
...............................................................................................
Has the innocence of one’s heart died? Or is it the loneliness some folks hide We’re always at constant war with our self And feel others have placed us on the shelf Though we may sleep our minds begin dreamin’ Haunted by a past and closet demon Enticed in this world in quest of freedom But falling captive stung by its venom Bitterness takes root from the hand of fate And anger enrages with vengeful hate It is hard to escape from acrid times When we fall victim to the world’s crimes Cling with courage and faith instead of doubt Do not allow the candle to burn out Let not the world's transgressions steal your life Let go of yesterday that looms with strife Do not allow compassion to depart For it will bring love back into your heart

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/8/2005 6:00:47 AM | Within the shadows of a dawning day Prairie dog’s occupied by morning’s way An eagle hovers on the crimson sky Waiting and watching with a preying eye Spreading wings before morning sun rising Ascending high into the horizon The long spanning wings and feathers of gold Razor sharp claws and eyes of emerald Swiftly she flies encircling the earth Quickly above before the day gives birth Descending through clouds, her powerful essence Graceful and majestic but fierce presence Running from the eagle's lore and swift swoop A small dog escapes the near grasping scoop It was misjudgment that spared the dog’s life It could have been pierced with claws like a knife. There are no promises to see daybreak Sometimes by mercy we avoid heartache. | |

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/12/2005 7:50:30 AM | Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
-- Robert Frost | |

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/12/2005 12:15:59 PM | The color of gold, maybe bold? but although, some... subside others, still shine
wheat, is neat... covering fields, in the heat in the winds, they look like... oceans, of gold
daisies, are never lazy? the stick up, from the ground for lovers, to spread... picknic, blankets... all, around
yellow roses, need no poses... for even, thier thorns amaze, others... and touch hearts, abound
these are only three? that i can, conceive which stay, to make us believe parts of eden, can still be found... all, around and inbetween
all we need, is to look... deep inside where the rest... can be found

| Chivalry defined from the Round Table Posted: 5/13/2005 3:34:43 PM | Life's but a Vapor
Life’s but a vapor from dawn’s early dew Vanishing quickly before morning’s through Choose today wisely what dreams to pursue Make it an adventurous rendezvous
Tomorrow’s flowers are seeds of today Becoming dried weeds or gorgeous bouquet We can be clouds without rain blown away Or mornings pour and afternoon’s sun ray
Though tomorrow is today’s mystery Today will be tomorrow’s history Either written by yesterday’s misery Or composed by today’s wizardry
