now, old telephones; my late great husband retired from Sprint and had some great ones he replaced during his years with them. Then I started buying old ones for him. Now I've inherited them.

it used to be anything white porcelain china with a gold halo, including ashtrays and I never smoked. This got a bit out of hand. To me it's very pretty. I had a big garage sale and only kept a couple of things.
I am now more simplified.

on going = art. oils and watercolors, although I also have a chalk and some of my bf's works. and also my own photography blown up and framed.

and since the bf collects WWII artifacts, your's truly has joined in the frey - went in with him on a kubelwagon (WWII German jeep). See uniform <

@Sinkist....you're supposed to throw your bills away as soon as they come in the mail. That's why they have trash cans right at the mailboxes.

It's rule #1 for ridding your house of clutter.

Rule #2 is to stuff everything else in the sofa.

I have a very small collection of owls...it started with one gift and the person said I reminded them of an owl....which was puzzling....was it the eyes? was it the way I can twist my head in a 180 degrees? my penchant for eating rodents?

Owls are interesting Squirrly.
Don't see the resemblance though either....maybe you looked wise to them?
Were you wearing huge glasses at the time?
Your head twisting talents would have reminded me of the exorcist however.

I like little glass shaped things with a little bit of color in it. I like them because they are so clean looking, and candy for the eyes.

I collect misdirected mail. Every three months or so, I will reply to these poor souls, with information regarding the "untimely death" of their friend. I also collect left-handed letter openers.

Since we are talking about collections and the last post was from a lady from St. Petersburg, FL, I would just like to give props to the Dali museum there. I have been there a few times and it never ceases to amaze me.

Looking around my small apt. I like wrought iron: lamps, coat hooks candle holders.
Colbolt Blue Glass, they have to have a navel on the bottem where they snip it, it makes it hand made. I have lots of vases.
High Heels, one of these days I will find that shoe that tickles my mind when I go out shopping.. but in the interum I buy what looks good on my feet ever looking for THAT Shoe,
I collect favorites.. :smiles:
Does bra and thongs and panties count? Cause I have lots of every style that hits my fancy.I even have a TN thong orange and all with a white "T" on it..
Wicker Baskets..loved the ones that could hold a baby in it.. had made one into a crib for my child..I would carry her with me to the rooms I happen to be working in..I have pictures of her in it, then of her dragging it around with her baby dolls in it.. grins..
Skirts. I love skirts..
Kitchen utensils from the 20's 30's and up to 50's. and Rolling Pins, from here and Europe and South America..
Okay so Im Eclectic..I think its all my past lives peeking thru..and wanting to be seen again

@Cotter,

There is a Canadian diamond that use to have a polar bear lazered into it. The polar bear is a trade mark for another company so the diamond company had to stop putting it on the diamond. Now they are rare to find and rather expensive, but out there to be found. It would be a very nice addition to your collection. Just have to find the right man to give it to you.
:)

OT: Many years ago I went to my bank, having a little money and a job I thought I would start a neat collection. I talked to a girl at the bank for her opinion and she agreed. Not really a good investment but a very good thing to do.

That was it I started my collection...... First thing I got was called 'Visa'.....lol
I now have one of the best debt collections on record.... :)

I can't really say I"m a collector of these...but I recently bought an interesting item at an auction. It's an unopened, still full, can of schlitz beef from 1967... think about it.. this can survived the summer of love... what a miracle LOL
I also have an Odyssey 4000 video game (pre-Atari days) system.
