alberta is a debt free province...the only one by the way.....is that not a direct testiment to our workforce????...
Uhm, as an Albertan myself I don't really want to make any comments about the work force. A recent Canada-wide study actually cited Alberta as the hardest-working province in Canada, and Edmonton as the hardest-working Canadian city. (In terms of hours worked, time between vacations, yadda, yadda)
That said, I don't think the work-force has much to do with Alberta being debt free. Give credit to the pool of resources Alberta's sitting on right now for that. Well, that and the Klein government's decision to ignore all social issues and pay down the debt during the 90's...
I don't like Klein, and don't think he could have done what he did without the magical oil prices that happened during the late 90's.. But to give credit where credit is due, he attacked Alberta's debt like it had tea-bagged his sister...

| IS BUSH MENTALLY WELL? Posted: 1/13/2005 9:50:41 PM | DUBYA is one thing, and that is a powerful figure. Is that power well-placed in his hands? Is he stable enough to handle the greatest power in human history? Few have ever been adequately gifted. Look at history, Napoleon, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, they all had the most powerful military of their day, but all suffered tremendous letdowns of ability. And they were genius-level leaders. We all know Bush is no genius.
Is there a parallel figure in history, who has wielded so much power, without direct competition? None before him. Maybe his humility has a personal, historical context as he realises his unique position?
Who can know for sure? It's not reassuring.

George Bush is humble?
When did his speech writers put that into the script?
