The internet is a free-for-all for the deranged people who see no consequences to their verbal actions. One must keep that in mind, and treat them as gnats. Just swat them and think nothing more of it. Responding only fuels the fire. It's what they want. If you give them no reaction, they are 100% defeated.
I agree. Not only are they defeated, but by ignoring them, you are telling them that they are nothing and their opinion is worthless. I've ignored people and it really gets to them that they can't engage me in a hate-fest. I've learned to block them right away, since some people get so upset when ignored that they seem driven to write again. Who needs another nasty note? | |

Its the ones that are nasty that are alil upsetting, the ones saying your a fat cow...blah blah blah. And men have written just to tell me this? I mean WTF did I ever do to them nothing at all, lol. But I don't let it get me down, and I still love POF. The forums rock! | |

For me, when I do get mad, it's rarely about the insults thrown at me... those just don't matter at all, but it is about me baffling at the sender's gaul to attempt to bother me. as long as I live, I'll never understand their motivation.
If it ever makes me wanna leave, fine. I'll leave... until then I'll just do what I normally do. | |

Posted: 3/7/2006 12:14:16 AM | I did receive one that stands out in my mind. But it did not even cross my mind to get rid of my account cause of it. The content of his message did upset me very much, especially when all I did was sending him a friendly hello and stuff trying to get to know him. U know, the first initial contact. I was so taken aback and was so shocked by his response, but I knew that it is him who has major issues, not me, and it is him who shouldn't even consider dating at all and being on here, not me, so I dismissed his letter. I didn't block and delete him for I don't even know how to do it, I'm not concerned cause I plainly just ignore male drama. He should be in a soap opera, I swear. Now I feel too bad that I don't have his message so I could post it and let the ladies debate from what angles to punch this guy out cause it was not only directed at me but woman in general.  Losers. Ignore them. I'm staying. | |

Yes I know I learned my lesson the hard way.....
Seriously though..I've gotten my share of rotten email but it's so much easier to delete and move on than to agonize about the sender...
Yes it is a waste of time,and energy...........
as in real life there are good people and bad..we surround ourselves with the good, shouldn't be any different in here really

Posted: 3/9/2006 10:34:12 AM | My emails have been ok.. but right now Ive got this guy who just wont take f*ck off for an answer...bugged me and bugged me for a phone #.. when he finally accepted that I wasnt going to give it to him.. he started telling me how I must have been abused as a child and that I was afraid of men..and to tell him all about it... 
Oh.. and about 3 pages ago... the guy who got mail from middle age women in purple? FINE I wont WEAR purple anymore!!! | |

I got 2 real nasty e mails and one was because i simply stated " hippies is about peace and love get with the program" but it was my doing because i sent it to her e mail and not on the form where she stated her views. I think every 2nd word was F%^&^%$%. I think if you block even if they change their name its the same e mail so try blocking.
