| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/2/2006 6:52:43 PM | Sometimes people need a kick in the ass. When you get nasty emails on a regular basis you better look within yourself and find out what you're saying that irks a lot of people. For every nasty email you get, there's probably 50 people who wish they had the fortitude to have written one themselves.
It's probably not unusual to get 1 or 2, but MANY???! Yeah, there's something wrong with you - you'll always get kicked down; here and in real life.
I've dished it out myself......each one deserved it (in my opinion) and I regret nothing.
Getting nasty e-mail is not a badge of honour when it's frequent...btw.

...and then there are those emails you get when you haven't said one single thing to provoke an attack. There are people who just hate to let people be themselves, since they themselves are so unhappy.
But you're right...if it happens on a REGULAR basis...time to look at yourself.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/2/2006 7:03:58 PM | | It all has to be considered in context. I avoid the current events/political/religious forums just because it's not something I really care to discuss publicly. There are just some topics that almost invite controversy. I'm here to enjoy discussions, and have plenty of opportunities for that. THe rude emails I get are usually guys who write and don't even take a peek at my profile. There are many here who are involved and just here for the forums. It's funny to look at their profiles which usually scream desperate and needy. I just suggest that they at least scan the profiles instead of just looking at pics. Then block! haha | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 9:28:28 AM | girlfriend, I know where Your coming from. I get hate mail from white men because I prefer the company of black men to white. They can really say some mean things. yea to the block button. A person is allowed their choice in who they like and I think that if these small minded people dont like it they can move on to the next profile. And just pass up mine. I dont care if they like me or not. Stick to your guns and best of luck to you. | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 9:31:59 AM | ^^^^"girlfriend"??? Ummmm...maybe you prefer the company of black men over white, but you're still WHITE and don't need to sound black. Hows that for rude email?
Oh come on!...she was lined up perfectly for it! LOL

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 9:34:36 AM | | What I think is funny are those emails that are meant to stimulate your interest, but just gross you out. I just picture this fool typing all this stuff thinking he is making major points bragging about ..... and has no clue that it is received with laughter or disgust, as he has just made a major a$$ of himself. Didn't sound studly, sounded pathetic, rude and disgusting. | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 9:59:31 AM | Is she an adult?
She can either just ignore them and/or hit the block sender button on the bottom of the message .
If she can't deal with that how does she deal with everyday life?

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 10:52:06 AM | I had recieved some rather raunchy emails. So before I deleted my profile I updated it. If any of you happen to read it the only thing that I changed was under "first date" and it even states update. I actually thought I would recieve large amounts of "hate" mail for what I wrote.I admit I am a VERY blunt person. (at times that is a blessing other times it is a curse) To my surprise I have only recieved one. The guy told me that he had seen better heads on lettuce and I needed to brush my skanky teeth LMAO. The man was a very attractive and mature 42yr old Just because I do not want to lower myself to his level I will not mention his name. I will however say that he was none to pretty to look at himself. Outside of that I have actually began recieving emails from a better class of people. (or at least the present themselves that way). | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 11:04:26 AM | But does it get any better than when some jerk sends you a scathing email and it is written at the grammatical level of about a 3rd grade student?
"And let me tell ewe sumthing. You need to loose about 50 pounds. And you need a haircut two. How can you here with all that hair?"
If the mods would allow it, I would LOVE to have a running thread where we could post the stupidity for all to share. I know that won't happen for privacy reasons, but it would be funny.
When you get the hate mail, consider that it likely came from a spineless weasel who gains courage through anonymity and laugh it off. There are many people here with nothing more to do outside of trying to annoy everybody who actually HAS a life.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 1:29:04 PM | eastsideeddie, I know what you mean. One guy wrote me a one liner saying I was a trader instead of a traitor. I e-mailed him with the definition of a trader verses traitor. then blocked him. Hope he learned something that day. | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 3:25:21 PM | I wouldn't let it ruin my experience here, but I emailed a user here just to say hello, and the response was something like "You f***ing loser, you actually think you had a chance with me?" followed by several 's
How sweet of her..
Though I'm sure she'll wind up with exactly the kind of guy she deserves. We can always hope.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 4:05:21 PM | Sorry to hear you are all getting some really nasty emails. People who like to harass and annoy others have something very seriously wrong with them. It is not normal to act in such a manner. Thank Heaven for the "BLOCK" feature.
On the other hand, I am sure everyone gets nice emails from people too. I have enjoyed getting nice notes from people who just made my day. It's nice to read a comment about a post I wrote, or even a pleasant compliment.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 4:18:01 PM | Yikes Parksie!
I'm sorry about that; I see nothing in your profile that would elicit that response. You seem like a perfectly nice, decent guy to me.
What can I say? Some people's children. Geesh!
OT: I've received several less than kind e-mails. I've received a lot from the truly insane and scary.
Generally I eviscerate them with a well-placed word or two and then I post it on my blog. My friends LOVE those posts.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 4:39:16 PM | | i've received a few nasty e-mails...but they don't ruin my experience...they just confirm my original opinion of the sender. that's right...i only got nasty e-mail after i very politely told the person that i didn't think we were a match. | |

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/3/2006 4:51:31 PM | Hi this was my latest rude email.
You would not date man that is not your equal. And the reverse is so true. Consider this when you email men who are fit. They are also looking for their equal
Not only did this poster email me this opinion...he posted it in a forum. I have never to my knowledge emailed said person, so I have NO idea why he felt the pressing need to point this out to me so that everyone could see. I personally love it when people have not the guts to post under their dating profile, because I think the post was from a profile this man uses to troll the threads so his humble opinions are not linked to the profile he shows to the potential woman he would like to date.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/5/2006 9:45:42 AM | Oh there is a certain University of Chicago grad who likes to brag that I will keep anonymous. Anyways, this "gentleman" kept going on in tangents while discussing the topic that we both had decisions on. I think he hates me. He comes in insulting people and acting like a troll. I kept to the topic and HE was trying to weasel out of the argument. The fellow sounded pompous and liked to pontificate. This man knew he was wrong and will not admit it. Good Grief, for a supposed mental giant he could not spell and kept asking why I was using college level words. My reply, for succinctness; and my retort was for him to buy a dictionary.
I kind of think the guy grew up losing in pick up basketball games only to take the ball home because he was not winning. That was my impression of him.
The vast majority of the people on POF are decent and cool.
Anyways Peace.

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/5/2006 9:59:05 AM | I dont mind so much men being pigs and saying things about breast size etc. but what gets me is that men will send messages just to say that you are ugly and should not be on the site. I have also had emails saying that im fat, and that they would do me a favor of sleeping with me... pleasee...lol i guess its that my profile is alittle mean towards guys or something, maybe im hurting their ego, those are not the worst of the mean emails i have gotten that made me consider leaving the site as well... first of all i think these guys are just jerks looking to try to hurt people, but though i could lose a few lbs i am not fat or obease, and even if i was who cares, you dont have to email a person if you dont like them or want to talk to them. I guess in the end they just know im out of their league and the type of girl who is a snob at bars, but that is my perogative..
i just wanted to post my opinion on this thread to explain some of the rude things guys post, and that it is just out of being purly vindictive, i mean obviously they must not be getting any...lol

| rude emails that spoil your POF experience Posted: 4/5/2006 10:00:39 AM | I have blocked several people for rudeness. The rudest was the man who recently said he hoped "Satanists" would "mount" me on their "blood altar" because I prefer not to date "serious Christians." He said more rude stuff, but since I blocked him I can't refer back to what else he said. I thought I had been so nice about it. He claimed to be "agnostic" but Satan is basically a Christian idea. I thought it was an over-reaction on his part. Why not just click "next," so to speak.
I found this personal-belief attack far more rude than the stupid requests for pictures of my tits and stuff like that.
