I always cook more than I need but I usually have some of my male friends around to help eat. I've learned to freeze...freeze... so that way when people come over, they can eat whatever they want. I have a couple of my male friends staying with me right now and I explained to them, on days I do not cook look in the freezer and just take out what you feel like eating and microwave it or else heat it up on the stove. They've become very good at doing that and this way nothing is ever wasted. One thing I hate to do is waste food. When I cook rice, I always make too much so I can freeze some up for casseroles or other rice dishes.

I think it's a great way to spend some time with that someone special as well.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 7/10/2006 5:26:44 PM | I like to cook because what I like more than cooking is eating what I cook. It's all really a pragmatic issue. If you want something done right you have to either shell out the money to go somewhere nice or learn to cook that ish yourself. And how better to determine the taste you want than having control over the ingredients you put in? Dang, I'm getting hungry now. | |

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 7/10/2006 7:11:12 PM | I am absolutely serious about cooking! It's what I do for fun, to unwind, to be creative....
My friends say I get the "serious-look" on my face whenever I'm the kitchen. I aim to please and will often cook things I don't even like/eat myself for the experience!

Its a great way to unwind and de-stress and my daughter loves to help in whatever way she can.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 7/26/2006 11:35:36 AM | | I love cooking!!! Its awesome! The best time to do it would have to be when your in your own kitchen with all of the stuff that you need to make it! I went to school for cooking because I enjoy it so much, but yet I could never work in a kitchen. I just like cooking for myself and others, not a whole restaurant full of people! | |

Of course, an opened bottle of wine at your side is a must while cooking. And if you're not half-wasted by the time you're sitting down to eat, you're not having enough fun!

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 7/27/2006 7:17:31 PM | I LOVE cooking! It's a creative outlet for me. I almost never follow a recipe to the letter.
It's also a stress reliever, when I'm not under any time constraints. I find chopping veggies very relaxing.
And when I cook for others, I love the showering of compliments.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 9/13/2006 1:48:34 PM | I love cooking. I started when I was about 12 and was horrible at it for the longest time! My bachelor days were filled with cans and boxes and frozen things that, looking back on it now, were just awful! Having come along in life and refining my enthusiasm with a solid education and a career as a chef, I know my skills in the kitchen have come a long, long way. I experiment and innovate constantly, I play and create and have fun with it and manage to come up with some really good stuff. I love creole/cajun cooking, play heavily in the asian realms, and enjoy falling back on the classical french and italian stuff. Bread is magic to me, and I can't help but get excited when I have dough rising or that incredible smell wafting out of my oven. | |
