| last good book read Posted: 1/18/2006 4:37:47 PM | Most of Dean Koontz's books are a little too wierd for me as I prefer more realistic novels. But his book 'Intensity' is probably my all time favorite to date.
'A Simple Plan' by Scott Smith is another good one. I have the first of John Standford's 'prey' series on my night stand but I've yet to open it.

If you're interested in stories with regards to Aviation try any of his books;
My fav. was "The Lions Gate" written before 9-11 but so closely related, it was like he predicted it.

| last good book read Posted: 1/18/2006 7:35:26 PM | Not completely read yet but reading a couple (2 for work, 2 for leisure). "Captain Correlli's Mandolin" (Louis de Bernieres) is one of the leisure books and it's amazing so far. I've felt my heart wrench in some parts and found myself laughing aloud at others.
3/4 of the way through. It'll be interesting to see how it ends.

| last good book read Posted: 1/18/2006 8:24:18 PM | The book is "A World Lit Only By Fire" by William Manchester. It's about the medieval mind and times, how the Renaissance changed the world, and how incredibly dastardly the popes were. Hard to believe that a pope not only "slept with" his own daughter, but also with his grand daughter. It's a thinking person's Da Vinci's Code.

| last good book read Posted: 2/14/2006 5:08:44 PM | Hey for anyone who takes an interest in world events and the so called MESSopotomia I strongly recomend the following books:
The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell - John Crawford State of War - Harry Risen
The first book is a collection of stories of a national guardsman's time in Iraq... the second is a look inside the relationship between the White House and the CIA and how badly they have fubared things in the middle east. Interested check out two two links below.
P.S. I saw both authors on the Jon Stewart show.... great entertainment.

I like just about anything by Chris Bohjalinian- beautiful writing about quiet lives. Am currently reading "Eats, Shoots &Leaves" Makes me laugh. Is this where the grown-ups are on POF?
