I have several going at once. Just finished the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich, LOL funny, can't wait for the next one! Am tackling The Odyssy yet again. Also reading Curse the Dark by Laura Anne Gilman, and have tons of reference books scattered about the house.

The Healing Home - about Feng Shui
The author goes into clearing out bad karma, blessing the home, etc... in addition to the correct colors for the room and a few other things that traditional feng shui books don't.
But, I didn't read anything there about which direction to face your bed... that stuff I was looking forward to.

The Piano Tuner ~ Daniel Mason

I bought this book for a dear friend of mine for his birthday last year and he said it was the best book he ever read. So, I picked up a copy for myself. I have read the book three times now and I hardly ever read a book more than once. It really is an amazing story and I highly recommend it. :)

The White Dragon was very very good. Of course anything by Anne McCaffrey when it deals with Pern is a fab read. Try "All The Whyers of Pern" next. Its the continuation of that story line followed by "The Skys of Pern". All excellent books.

I found Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth series to be excellent as well so I highly recommend those. Just be aware, the books get VERY graphic (sexually) in places and not in a good way. Robert Jordan had a fantastic if long winded series called "The Wheel of Time" but he died before it was finished so we'll never know how Rand Al'thor made out.

In the fiction arena I find JA Jance & JD Robb to be wonderful authors. Tom Clancy is always an excellent story teller and Clive Cussler (Dirk Pitt series) is a writer not to be missed.

I could go on. I'm an avid reader and have a pretty extensive library so there are many many more that I left out. But these are a great start. Happy reading!

That reminds me, I had the first 4 books and hadn't realized he'd written more. Guess I'll have to start the series over and get some new books.

Christine Feehan~Dark Celebration (yea, I know :laugh)
Greatest works of Edgar Allen Poe~Tell-tale Heart (light reading)

The last good book I read was "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. I couldn't put it down and hated it to end. I saw the movie and was completely disappointed. It was barely like the book. I think I'll stick to the books and not bother with the movies if they happen to be made into them.

"Future Hype" by Bob Seidensticker. A must-read.
Up next is Samuel Taylor Coleridge's complete poems.

I am currently reading Shelby Foote's box set on the Civil War. He was interviewed for "Gods and Generals" years ago, he is awesome!

The last two great books that I read were "Crucial Conversations" which is an excellent self help type book for building happy and positive relationships in business and personal situations and for pure fun the science fiction book by Joe Haldeman called "The Forever War". What is funny is that events in the middle east with the crazy long and expensive Iraq war brings back memories when reading the Forever War book! Even though it was written over 30 years ago it shows the pointless strategy of waging an war that cannot be won for a hundred years.

I am reading 'Last Light' by Alex Scarrow. It's set in London in the near future and it's about the collapse of the global oil supply and one family's struggle to get thru it.

Interesting read so far.

Into the Wild - Fascinating actually. While dying alone in the wilderness hasn't been one of my dreams, living in the wilderness has been.

Id have to say that the last good book I read was :

She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. His other book "This Much I Know is True" was also an instant favourite.

Recently, I've come across some Peter Straub and love his stories.

Odd Thomas (Dean Koontz) was great! The next two in the sequence, Forever Odd and Brother Odd, were pretty good too, but as with many sequels not as good as the first.

My most recent reads were to do with the coming about of King Arthur and that legend. I get really interested on a subject and delve into whatever is available. Don't have them in front of me so I can't give the authors, but I read "The Mists of Avalon" and the Merlin trilogy. It just amazes me how much the story varies from each author's stand point.

I just finished Edith Hamilton's "Mythology," which encouraged me to purchase copies of Homer's "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey," which I haven't read yet.

Looking for any ideas. I really like mythology, fables, anything to do with the plague, some comedy, got into teen novels for awhile (got sick of the blood/gore and overly sexual adult themed novels) and really liked some of them........always open to new things! I love Jonathan Kellerman and read anything he writes.

Please send suggestions if you have any!

I just finished reading Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. Just a note, the movie version of this book is HORRIBLE!!!!! The book, however, is funny and interesting. I plan on reading his other books in the near future.

I am currently reading 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult.

I love love love Jodi Picoult, I have read everything she has written up to this point.

'Three Cups Of Tea' is a great book that I just finished reading. It's about a gentleman who by a strange twist of fate walks into a village in the highlands of Pakistan and is so moved by their generosity that he promises to return and build a school. It follows his struggles to build that school as well as many others over the years. It was one of the best books I have read in a few years.

Right now I am reading 'Into The Wild' by Jon Krakauer. I'm sure people saw the previews a few months back for the movie. So far it is excellent.

I am also reading 'Winning The Future' by Newt Gingrich. I am not a republican and really dispise that party for quite a few things, but this book is a pretty good read. Too bad they don't stick to what they say on so much of their platform.
