and i just haven't really ever got into the whole dating thing or been successful at it . seem to meet alot of girls but not really get anywhere with them . so it has left me being single for a while .
at the point i'm not really even sure what it would take for me to actually find a girl to date long term . that has seemed like an impossible task as of late . | |

Anyways, I have been asked this on occasion, right now I can answer by saying it is a choice to be single. Although I greatly miss a lot of aspects that a relationship involves it is just not something I suppose can happen at this moment.
I am here and looking for friends not limited to that but, as of September I will be in my last year of College, I work nearly fulltime hours and I am a single mom of 2 kids. Given all of these other responsibilities, I just don't have the time to give a potential partner the attention they deserve.
Sorry for the long reply!
Other than that an ok response could be: I guess people never realize what they have until it is gone. It's easy to take something/someone for granted without realizing you are doing so!! | |

Makes me smile everytime I think about him. Definitely knows how to make me laugh. Makes me melt with those special kisses, that only he knows how to give me. Let's me have my space and individual identity. And makes me feel safe. I am a hopeless romantic, so of course I believe he is out there somewhere!  | |

Posted: 8/16/2008 3:57:35 PM | excellent reply there metro. i have also been on the receiving end of that line here a few times 'what is someone like one doing single' well first of all if im online admitting it to the whole world, im obviously at the stage where i have started wondering that too!! though inevitably these are the guys who realise i am a REAL person with real opionions and a brain and then lose interest and thats it the internet cold shoulder!! ouch!
but what has annoyed me the most is those who say they are not that bothered about looks that they have met great looking girls who are not nice people etc......but then u explain that u carry a few extra pounds or are over weight and then.....ur next e-mail is met with an echo!!!
why so shallow. i am not generalising here it is not all, im am speaking of some irish men who have yet to be intorduced to a mirror or teadmill themselves.
i digress, i think the line 'why are u single etc...' is just that, a line, its a flirt, its a cheesy cheesy line, would u accept it from someone face to face???

I'm single but it isn't by choice, its just the way it is at the moment and am sooooooooooooooo tired of hearing this question!!! its almost as if the person asking it is asking "what's wrong with you? why aren't you like the rest of society and with someone?"
I tend to answer the question with "If i knew that, i wouldn't be single, would I, dumass?"
A friend of mine suggested I say "because the right woman hasn't come along yet" but i like my answer better.
I think the realistic answer is "because people can't see me past my looks, and that's their loss". | |

Appart from that, I have managed to learn, polish and constantly improve my character to the point that when a girl finds me, she will have a treasure on her hands, my heart.

BECAUSE it makes sense...
I'm a content woman right now in my life, which is why there are really no complaints.
I feel that there is "someone" out there for me and, we just haven't reached each other yet. When the timing is right, it will be right, until then...I will just continue and enjoy my family, friends and life for now.
