| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 2/1/2006 9:25:24 AM | Had some great responses in this thread, surprised it didn't last longer and attract more to participate.
Anyone else?
Are you looking for someone or looking to be found by someone?
My thought is that if your profile is all about you, lacking description of those you may consider, you are looking to be found.
If your profile is basically filled with the description of your choice mate, with brief description of yourself, then you are looking.
What about you?
I just hope no one kicks my tires...

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 2/1/2006 10:03:26 AM | Let's see, I think I'm out looking and waiting to be found. Wait, can I call it waiting if I'm wandering around looking?? Maybe that's my problem!
Oh and I'm currently looking at leasing with an option to buy....I don't tend to kick tires, but I do believe you've gotta take it out on the higway at full throttle in order to see what the engine can handle!

I'm rolling the dice hoping to find a symbiotic relationship that's a work in progress. I'll gladly abandon the field to the predators and assume my protective coloration when one gets too close and I guess I have a bit too much tough bark on me to be attractive to parasites.
So, I guess I'd answer unequivocally 'both and neither' . :)

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 2/1/2006 8:35:11 PM | Both kinds of profiles can be frustrating. The people looking have this laundry list of wants, but can't be troubled to say anything about what they bring to the table OR post even ONE picture.
The people wanting to be found (especially women) love to describe every nuance of their personality, but say NOTHING about their daily life. Ooooohhh how many profiles have I read where someone tells me how honest, trustworthy, brilliant and funny they are. And how they volunteer at the homeless shelter and pet small dogs.
What does that have to do with the price of tea in China???????????

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/9/2006 10:05:08 PM | Depends on the day. Some days I'm a tire kicker. Other days I am would consider a test drive. If I liked the test drive,I may consider financing options. Of course I am assuming that I have recourse if I get a lemon! Happy shopping! | |

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/21/2006 7:15:31 PM | I am a bemused bystander enjoying the human comedy, hiding from people who aren't even looking for me.
That's funny tetrahedron. I'm sure that's not completely the case, but I can identify with it somewhat.
I'm out of orbit also. I hope everyone looking or waiting finds someone, truthfully. I'll end up w/ whoever didn't show up to find out who'd they get, or which one they were, probably some nice old lady with wise eyes that never married and had buried several dear pets before we met. We can make up for lost time, instead of frantically trying to get it back.
Maybe she froze some eggs and we can set the table for quintuplets.

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/21/2006 7:27:11 PM | When I look, I am rebuffed (not that I was ever buff in the first place), and when I am found I disappoint, not that I made any promises. So I watch, hiding in plain sight, and no one is looking for me, so I am not found.
If I see her I will fall over myself noticing, lose breath running to her, show my love with wild eyes and count time by the pounding of my heart, waiting for her answer. But I am not looking.
And if she finds me, laying her hand along my cheek, claiming my heart before we speak, these weary feet will rest on air, never to touch earth again. But she is not looking.

But, being a reliable, compact model, I have less market appeal than an stylish SUV, a plush luxury, or a quick, tight handling sports car.
Anyone want to kick the tires?

I like the reliability over the chance of manufacturer's defects because they were in a rush to test out the new paint job.

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/22/2006 4:20:35 AM | On the contact restrictions at the bottom of everyone's profile, they denote that renters/test drivers and such no to need apply...
Some are looking for for trade ins and others want a brand new shiny one with all the bells and whistles....
EZ
You do have a point there. And if some horse seller presented you with a polished up used model, with all the curves but then told you you couldn't even sit in it let alone take it for a test drive untill actually purchased??? welll???
Would't you think that there was something seriously wrng with it. Defects that had been concealed from you.

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/22/2006 7:25:11 PM | Spade, you are too funny!
I am definitely looking to be found...then when it all falls apart in a noisy, cluttered, emotionally ruptured heap at my feet...It was never my idea!!! (You got no one to blame but yourself buddy...)
But I would say I am looking for a quirky, fun, reliable car...good mileage...definately want to buy....has to be a utility vehicle (for off-roading adventures) but not a behemoth! And has to have room for a family. Preferably some dents (for character and history)...gotta love a car with a story! And has to be comfy...
Okay...I'm done... | |

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/22/2006 8:53:33 PM | I just thought of it, window shopping at the eye candy store, browsing at the pet store (how much is that doggy in the window?) and generally just walking the mall to head for the coffee shop to discuss my product with a focus group.
I tried this before with both a hearty description of me and of who I wanted to meet. Mostly a waste of time because of where I live. It just stopped being any kind of fun and not worth the investment. Because I am half-assed dating someone local, I'm here on forums, until I change my mind.

That pretty much sums it up And I think I give maybe TOO good of who I am and what I'm looking for I think I scared 'em all away

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/23/2006 11:16:00 AM | When I look and find something appealing it's always 1000's of miles away and that is very frustrating. I don't look that often so I am waiting to be found I suppose.

| Are you looking or wanting to be found? Posted: 5/23/2006 4:06:17 PM | my profile says, "STOP! Beware of the Dog!"
but of course curiosity creeps in and some approach!
and then they find that the sign is just a sham. and that the dog is not so viscious afterall!
ummm, so what was the question again????
oh yeah!
i guess i want to do the finding but i am not sad at all if someone finds me too!
