No applause just throw money - a history of Vaudeville and its bizarre personalities. Probably one of the most impressive books I've read in years.
I've even met one of the people mentioned in it.

Hollywood Gothic: The tangled web of Dracula from novel to stage to screen by David J. Skal.
I had a copy years ago, but a beautiful woman wanted it so there ya go.
This is the revised edition with lots more info and pics.
Every book I've read by David Skal has been very good.

Shake Hands with The Devil - Romeo Daillaire Tough read with all the ethnic names and and emotional drama

On the lighter side - Alice Munro - "Runaway" Collection of short stories

The Swinging Bridge - Ramabi Espinet
Again bit of tough read with ethnic names to remember

Finished "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth ~ great, great read. I always miss the characters and that world you are immersed in when I finish a good book, kinda like a love affair that needs a cooling off period afterwards. So my transitional book is Garrison Keillor's "Leaving Home (a collection of Lake Woebegone stories)"

"The Real Bravo Two Zero" by Michael Asher. I still like Andy McNab's version better.

"Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army" by Jeremy Scahill. Fascinating.

"Death and Honor" by W.E.B. Griffin and his son. This is the first book in a long time that lives up to the original series. Awesome historical/military fiction.

Been meaning to get around to General D'Allaire's book. One of these days.
