Weight Loss...I'm Confiding in my Fellow Fishies

I begin by eliiminating junk foods & alcohol, and cutting down on soft-drinks, sweets and high-carbohydrate snacks. I make a sincere effort to replace alcholic beverages with juice and bottled water... replace junk food with fruits and veggies, and I make the conscious decision to eat only out of hunger (and not boredom).

I agree.. but i'm already there. My son almost has a seizure of joy if he's allowed to have a pop. I don't keep it in the house. No chips, no candy no nothing... or i would be stuffing my face nonstop.
I think i need to enforce the rules more.
I drink a 32 ounce cup of water, sometimes 2 before very meal, because i need to feel full or i won't stop eating.
I don't eat after 7pm
No pop, no candy... i'm bad for breathmints and gum though....
I just need to get up and out!
stop grazing the kids leftovers
Slap my mother for the "wasted food" phobia i have
Damn the starving children in whatever country!

How many lbs is a pant or dress size?

for every 10 lbs lost you go down a pant/dress size.

Advice - for fat bottomed girls ( I am one too!):

Walk, walk, walk...............and you will slim down but just remember you never truly lose the shape genetics gave you. If you are predispostioned to being lower body heavier it will remain that way........it just becomes a smaller version of your natural shape.

As for dieting.......I dont believe in it. Its about healthy eating and not denying hunger. Change your eating habits and lifestyle. For me, I am the joke of the office because I eat ALL day........but I eat yogurt, carrots, boiled eggs, salads, fruits.......and at times even chocolate and chips (on bad days) but I simply cannot go for more than 2 hours without something in my mouth....

I have put some weight too in the past 2 months because I started dabbling in unhealthy food choices.......and the results are showing on my BUTT...lol...I can still squeeze into the size 7 but breathing is getting difficult....and that's my sign normally that I am overdoing the bad food choices.

Like many of you I put on weight when I was pregnant and it was only when I stopped thinking about losing weight that I actually lost it. Instead I looked at myself and thought, well this is what I have and I will never be skinny minnie so let's turn this body into a healthy body, make it strong. Honestly, it was the jiggling body I didn't like at all........and that was my whole purpose.......make it strong and stop jiggling.....and I wasn't concerned about the weight or size.....jsut wanted firmer muscles. Having always been active helped me. So with increased activity and making good food choices it just comes off..

Hope this helps someone. Everyone has to find their own way to accomplish what they want. This was mine.

I sure hope it helps me and everyone else

Though the eating all day thing is HARD for me... I am more of a 2 meals a day type of girl and I know that's not good, but it's always how I've been and I am not sure how to change that...

Cagewench, I have the same problem too. I am used to eating only two times a day. I find that if I actually eat breakfast, then for the rest of the day I need to constantly eat, becuz I feel like I'm starving.

I'm not sure how to go about adding in more meals, with it being successful. Anyone have any ideas?!

I also find if I eat early in the day it nauseates me... for example - I haven't eaten yet today - I *am* starting to get hungry but a girl friend and I are going for a walk and then a late breakfast...

/me drinks water to fool stomach

I dont like eating right away in the morning either and don't. I start eating when I am hungry. For some reason I thought that was the only reason you should eat...when you are hungry.

I was slim till I quit smoking and all of a sudden found out food tastes good!!! I could stand to lose 60 pounds I can not afford to join a gym I have no room for exercise equipment in my small basement apartment , I walk two dogs two to three times a day. I quit drinking coke and went to coca cola zero! I have lost close to 20 lbs since doing that I would ideally like to get to a 9/10 I am now a 16, I used to think I was fat in high school i was a size 5, I can relate to the stories here it is so hard to lose weight. How do we do it? how do we lose 60 lbs? let's all support each other and share what we can do to help each other reach our goals.

Alright, i have always been chubbier. Never been skinny and I have no idea what i'd look like if I were to lose the weight. I'm chubby from top to bottom, from my chubby toes to my chubby cheeks. My friends tell me that i'm very portioned and my weight looks good on me but I would LOVE to lose atleast 30 pounds. I wanna know what it feels like to have a pretty belly button and to have only one chin. I have the chubbiest belly (which at times I myself find to be cute lol) but I really would like to know what it feels like to not have to pull my shirt out of my rolls everytime I sit down and to not be afraid that my belly is gonna hang out when i'm wrestling with someone. Also, how come everytime time ya sit down and then you stand up you have to unroll the waist of your pants back up? lol Pain in the @ss I tell ya lol
I'm thinking of going to curves with some of my girlfriends around here to attempt to lose some weight. I have been the same weight for the past 10 YEARS!!! My eatings habits have never changed. I don't usually eat breakfast, sometimes i'll eat lunch but it all depends on what i'm doing. I'm not a snacker, but I have a BIG supper. I find that I feel sick if I eat breakfast some mornings and well lunch, i'll just eat it if i'm hungry. My eating habits are horrible. I seem to live on coffee all day. I'm not a fan of sweets but I love greasy foods. My weight hasn't changed but i'm guessing my arteries are quite clogged lol

For me, I think the most surprising fact I have learned is that if you starve your body, it will store ALL your calories and make fat stores of them....ie: don't eat and get fat! That is my main problem. I don't eat enough calories a day, or at least, I wasn't eating enough a day. I've been trying to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks every day (healthy of course) and I drink a TON of water. At work, I have about 30 cups of it in 8 hours! I have been eating plain oatmeal for breakfast, salad for lunch with lots of protein in it, but few calories (light dressing) and for dinner, I have a fairly balanced meal, with few carbs. Snacks are fruit or protein (nuts are great). I still remain the same size, but I eat whatever I want on weekends usually, which is when I basically starve myself :( Not good.....I really need to regulate my habits for every day, not just 5 of 7. And, I need to get more cardio in......more sex would be great!

I guess after all this, I realize it's not working. Have you seen the website fitday? It's good if you can do the diary thing....I can't.

Hey gals! A really great salad to try....romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, toasted almonds, red pepper, celery all in balsamic vinegar/oil dressing! So very very yummy and keeps you full for quite a while too!!!! What a battle weight is...I was surprised as well to hear that if you eat frequently during the day, your engine is set to high and you will actually lose weight! But I do believe it....and my issue is not sweets or chips..or even pop! I just love meat, breads and potatoes! My love affair with food..will it ever end? lol

I lost quite a bit of weight 2 years ago following Simply Women (there's a book/program) started with walking everyday and gradually built up the duration and speed and added the gym...also cut out the 5 whites (sugar, flour, rice, pasta & bread)...works great...unfortunately with a lot of things that have happened I'm not doing it now even though I know how
oh and on that one you're allowed 1 treat per day or 1 cheat day a week

Noooo not cyber! The real deal! lol

I dont think sucking on a microphone or wrapping your legs around the monitor or sticking 'it' into slot A and going for the hard drive is going to burn any calories or fat.

change your approach out here lol.. "sexercise partner needed, apply within" lmao.. oh god could you imagine!

Anyways.. back to the thread lol.. (sowwy)

I think if you can cut back fried foods, fast foods, cut your treats in half, and became more active, then you will probably notice a difference.

Hi Ladies,
Like most of you I too am in the "a few extra pounds" category. I have been using the Weight Watcher cookbook to make my main meals and eating the special K and other cereals with grains and stuff for the other two meals of the day. Also taking a bag of chips... yep chips, and divided it into 10 mini bags of about 15 chips. this is my treat for the day. I do drink about 6 bottles of water a day. also my children love fruit so I have a lot in the house and that helps with some of my snacking urges.

so far I have lost about 8 pounds within two weeks. I am also doing the treadmill thing at the gym and feel more energetic than I have in years.

I live in Brampton if anyone is interested in a workout buddy.

My goal is to look good for me! I don't necessarily have to loose a certain amount of weight. I just want to feel and look good.

Good luck to you all in your goal.

I can't believe it! I haven't been on here for a week and decide today to sign on and this guy starts up chat and asks me right away if I had more pics...that should have been my first clue as to how shallow he is...and I said no, ...he says, dont' bother, you look a bit chunky anyway!!!! Wow, don't even know the guy but that still hurt .... ....truth is I do have a few pounds to lose. There are so many men on here that are looking for women who have that perfect body and yet there are so many of us women who have so much to offer but never get that chance because the guy is blinded by what society says is beautiful. I should have gone with my first instinct and left well enough alone and not have signed on today.

oh annie, don't waste a tear on that turd...you can lose the weight but he'll always be a ignorant butthead and there's no diet to fix that, (but i hear Richard Simmons is looking into it).
also, don't give up on the male species...some look beyond the surface to the real person inside, and those are worth logging on and weeding around to find.
in the meantime, if you do want to lose weight do it for the right reasons - for your health and well-being and your capacity to enjoy life to it's fullest, not, i reapeat NOT to conform to society's view of what a woman should look like and certainly not to conform to some butthead's idea of who is worth chatting with.
cheers babydoll!
