You know what arri... I read the book The Celestine Prophesy and I have to completely agree with you. That person may be coming into our lives for the sole purpose of helping us out of the last relationship, a relationship that we were supposed to be in because we had something we needed to learn from it. We may also have something to learn from the next.....

I'm going to have to agree with lisa...I can't just shut it off like a light switch, especially if it was a long relationship, too much of your life is entwined with the other persons...

I'm ready too Sammy! Head and heart in place, but I ain't puffin out my chest, men don't look you in the eyes when you do that....

I totally agree with a lot that has been said on this forum.
It is important to not take any baggage in to the next relationship. We all have a past, it's what we learn from it that makes our future better.
I do think that a rebound is a relationship you go into very soon after one ends, not years later. Too much time has gone by for the last relationship to make a difference.
Do I think they work, that totally depends the the two people.
My ex was on the rebound. Although were only dating when I first met him, I should never have let the relationship continue. He wasn't there for me 100% in the beginning and never really learned how to be later on. My mistake was staying with him as long as I did.
I can't with all honesty say what would happen with someone else. Again different person, diffenent variables.
I wish you luck. I think you are doing the smart thing by taking your time. It's great to hear he wants that too. The best things in life are worth waiting and working for.
Good luck and enjoy the adventures ahead.
