nunthewiser: ah ha! know what you mean - have never used one, but looks like a good thing to have. I am a woman of few tools....

I never responded to the first part of the question: breakfast is important. But without OJ I just can't make it past 10am...

ashely:..... when you get one you wouldnt want to live without it... they do come in very handy.... if you have like leftovers like spaghetti meat sauce.. or taco mince ( ground beef)... but dont want to go to all the trouble of heating everything up... just whack everything in there lettuce tomatoes cheese anything you want and it all heats up.... same with a quick and easy way of having baked beans on toast... or canned spaghetti...

we use to have them for meals growing up on a friday night or saturday nightt... when mum couldnt be half a rsed to cook something major up.... they may only look like a sandwich... but they are filling... and always good when you just dont feel like cooking... within 10mins... you have something to eat.... but then... i like fast cooking meals...lol...and always try to find the cheats way out...

Quick breakfasts that will keep you going:

Melt a tablespoon of p/b in the microwave. Take one banana. Dunk.

Toast and microwave scrambled eggs (or even scrambled egg whites with a lil' cheese whiz!)

Micro-muffins!

Duh! I love my microwave!!

Whatever you eat, try and incorporate a good portion of protein in there to keep you from feeling hungry too soon. Ie. an egg, cup of milk, yogurt, etc.

I don't eat breakfast, usually.
I eat a brunch, and a dinner...punctuated by snacks if I feel the need. I hardly ever eat before 11:00 AM.

Everybody's metabolism is different.
I'm thin, I feel fine, and I don't eat breakfast.
I'm not saying everyone should follow my example.
Whatever works for you: It's all good.

i had a delicious omlet with cheese in the middle, i prefer the processed cheese lol its not really gourmet but it is tasty, as well as pancakes cooked to perfection. and a glass of OJ
finished it off with a muffin and a swing of good old freshly squezzed oranges from the finest orange trees in the continent.....

yes it is the most important meal of the day, especially if your trying to lose weight, it jump starts your metabolism right away into high gear, it could also be your largest meal of the day since you will be burning calories throughout, also dinner should really be your smallest meal of the day as your most likely less active in the evening.

for those that skip breakfast and trying to lose the pounds your fooling yourself because when you finally do eat your body holds on to every calarie it can because it never knows when your going to feed it again, makes sence right?

^^^it's true they say you should have breakfast if you're trying to lose weight but there's no way I'm facing food first thing in the morning unless I'm travelling ... I nibble on fruit, nuts and raw veggies during the day and dinner is my meal of the day and still lose weight when I want.

I do believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but since I work overnights my breakfast is usually when most people eat dinner. I have never been much for the typical breakfast foods so I eat what ever I feel like having. Today I had some fish patties with a slice of cheese on them and a glass of Diet Coke. At other times I might have a bowl of soup or chicken nuggets. It all depends on what kind of mood I am in.

I'm trying to follow the zone diet atm...the 2 zone breakfasts I have most often are:
- cottage cheese with grapes and whole almonds (you'd be surprised at how good it tastes!)
- turkey bacon, eggs, pumpernickel with butter, and fresh grapefruit

I'm Back!!!

I had pancakes this morning... I used a premix but
I added two extra eggs and used olive oil to cook it in....
I added some fruit slices and topped it off with maple syrup...
It was good... easy to make, and filling!!!

Thanks all for your great tips!!!
