| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 9/5/2008 9:50:13 AM | What part of there may be times when there may not be any "reason" given so that the blocked person can figure out a way to circumvent the restrictions a user has placed on their profile or mail settings do people not understand????
If you can't get through there is a reason and it mostly likely isn't a "problem" with the site or the email system so move on to the next profile.

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 9/23/2008 10:33:07 PM | Have to say I have only just noticed this has happened to me a lot, really it shouldnt say SENT if it hasnt been, I send a few messages to quite a few people, I used to paste a bit on the end but 3/4 of the message was personlised.
Anyway i tried completely new messages and in one I hardly said a thing just to get it to send, it "sent" but isnt in my sent folder.

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 9/25/2008 9:55:30 AM | | Ive reported this numerous times... yet my msgs always get shot down... there is definitely a bug... and all the links the moderator INSIST it must be one of those things, simply is not the case. Moderator, you must not be a programmer... bugs happen... just too many people reporting same problem... I personally write each email, no copies etc... and almost everyday I see emails still not sending out to new contacts... ive almost given up writing people due to this problem... it really must be looked into more. Gets real frustrating not getting messages in the first place only to find the messages you do take the time to write, are not even getting to the people... | |

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/5/2008 3:47:06 PM | After following your links hearing the same things, there are no problems... how can this be with 100's of people complaining about the same problem... let alone the people that never realize the problem, nor how to report it...
Whats the admins account? I'll sure be glad to forward him the dozens of forum threads reporting this problem, with 100's of complainants , and the moderators ignoring this issue or writing it off as the USERS problem... all of us taking the time to report these problems want to see the site better and smoother... no use using a site if you cant even rely on the system to send out emails, it should be the #1 thing about the system that should be solid.
What I'm surprised is he doesn't read all of these forum posts on bugs/suggestions etc and address them (if he has I've never noticed)
BTW, I think this has a similar bug in the forums "Anything you post can not be deleted. " is definitely not true as I've posted things before only to not have them actually post.. So again I'll try this reply and try posting another bug (with screenshots to prove my points)

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/5/2008 4:16:34 PM | Ill reply here (since this seems to work) As well as some emails, I can no longer post to the forums, only reply to a thread... so what HAVE I DONE WRONG now?
No wonder I haven't noticed replies to all the other bugs I've reported... THEY ARE NOT POSTING! Geez this is irritating..

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 10/25/2008 1:48:16 PM | | The problem I am having is that I've sent three or four emails to someone I have successfully emailed before, but they aren't showing up in my 'sent messages' so I'm assuming he's not getting them. I'm not getting a message saying I've been blocked, and these were simple, short messages so I'm sure I didn't violate any of the other rules. | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 10/25/2008 11:38:17 PM | I, also, have read tickettoride's suggestions & none apply to the letters I've sent to @ least 3 different people. After noticing this happening, I sent a message that said 'hello', to one of them. It said 'message sent'. I immediately went to 'sent messages', but it wasn't there. I understand, when someone has set their mail preferences, but you are informed of these. For instance, on accasion, I hit send & I get a notification, which says "this person is not accepting messages this short". If something IS preventing my letters from arriving, it'd be extremely helpful to receive this sort of notification, so I'd know to do something differently. As it stands, tho, the letters in question did not fall within the parameters of tickettoride's list. (I just noticed something. I hit a smiley face, the one which you now see above this statement. You see the emoticon, but before hitting post, I see 'fustrated', not fRustrated. An 'r' is missing.) | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 10/28/2008 8:52:26 PM | | hi all, in a way im glad people are having this problem as i though it was something wrong with me, i have snet messages to people loads of time without a problem, last couple of week ive seen people who are beautiful so i have mailed them but i get the same problem. Dint realise othjer people were suffering! Imagine all the messages that you my not of recieved. This needs sorting! Admin, listen up, so many complaints indicate somethings wrong and it shouldnt say message sent when in actual fact it aint. All we ask is something like hotmail when you get you message back with a reason why it was not delivered to the recipient! | |

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/28/2008 9:03:48 PM | I am having the same problem even with people I have messaged many times before.
As a test I sent a person the EXACT same message that I sent the person two weeks ago but this time the message did not go through. In order to get a message through I have to rewrite it many times and in some cases I can't through at all even when the person has zero mail restrictions.
I have read all the links and threads regarding this subject and I have a list next to my computer with all the banned words and phrases. I became so frustrated with messages not going through that I deleted my account last week out of annoyance.
A dating site is no good if you can't message people.

hi amanda just read your post on the forum. So i thought id experiment and message you for 1 to see if it works to you and 2 to say hi. How frustrating is this?! There are some beautiful ladys on here and i have not been able to message anyone on here for weeks! Anyways write back if you recive this message (if you can and if it works!) if not lets speak via to each other via the forum or by e-mail if you like? Speak to you soon, i hope! cheers, Nigel, xxxx.
p.s also isnt it funny that you get mail about local singles events from other members? they get through but ours dont?
i just sent this, now it works, tryed twice but the 1st didnt work so i sent the 2nd and now it works and it said that they both got sent? Doubt any more would work to anyone else?

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/29/2008 10:02:18 AM | So far, I have never come across other Reasons why E-Mails do not go through other than the Points I have outlined. In some Cases, if you re-read these Items, its next to impossible to find out which it is unless an Error Message comes up. In most Cases, People don't investigate the Items carefully enough and miss the Reason their Mails do not go through.
Beyond this, the Admin would have to code a Message Dialog for each "Sent Message" Failure, so People can make Changes to their E-Mail Content. Should a Message contain a Spam Link throwing up a Flag for a Block, then a corresponding Error Message should not be too difficult to code.
Also keep in Mind, these Error Messages serve as Feedback which assist Spammers to circumvent the Filters.
I have asked the Admin to comment on these Mail Issues on several Occasions in the Past, and his Investigation showed People were simply not following the New User Messaging Limitations.

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/29/2008 12:52:17 PM | But, once I've made contact with someone, shouldn't I always be able to email them unless they spcifically block me? Or am I reading that wrong? Yes, but that is applicable to the Point in the List dealing with the Mail Settings only.
| Spam, Scam, Telephone Numbers, E-Mail Blocks, unrecognized Symbols, HTML Links or Java Code, Censored Terms, etc. are applicable to all E-Mail Messages, new or previously contacted Users. |

| Sent Messages not showing up in Sent Messages/Outbox Posted: 10/29/2008 1:51:56 PM | I've been having a similar yet different scenario sporadically for 6-8 weeks now. None of the items in the long list in post #2 by ticket to ride of this thread applies. It will probably be chalked up to the user error.
What's happening is messages appear to be going through but when I go to "sent messages" they just sit there as "unread" for days or weeks. And no, it's not that the recipients can't be bothered to read them.
One of those recipients I had 4-5 emails back and forth with without incident. We even had a common friend. I can't imagine she suddenly would decide to not read an email I sent her. The next one had me on her favorites list. I emailed her. In my sent messages, it sat there as unread forever. This even after she came back to view my profile again. The last case is a new contact I emailed twice, and the email sits in my sent messages as "unread." Again, I still can't imagine this woman not at least opening or deleting my email. I've had a total of approximately 6-8 emails fall under this scenario lately. Every single one of my emails otherwise sent here has been at least "read."
So what's the deal with that? I suppose it happens to others. Probably will be attributed to "user error."
