| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/19/2006 11:06:04 PM | | the same thing sasquatch described happened to me as well. i sent a message, it appeared in my sent messages folder, where it remained unread for a while... then, next time i noticed it was simply gone. does this mean the message was never received? if the receipient deleted the message (whether before or after reading it) should it not still appear in my sent messages folder? does a moderator / anyone have an explanation... please? thanks and merry xmas! | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/20/2006 4:54:22 PM | So the upshot to what you're saying is, or from what I'm hearing, is that you have pictures in your portfolio, hidden obviously, but you can't send them with an email?
Start with copy pasting the above into an email to me - let's just start there.

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/23/2006 11:21:12 PM | So we can send out 4 of the same things but after those 4 same messages it won't let us anymore, but after that can we still send out messages but has to be different from the same 4 messages sent previous, just wondering. | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/29/2006 12:08:45 AM | | ive been having the same problem. ok say if you did message more then x amount of new contacts in a day or you copy and pasted more than 4 times to someone. When will you be back to normal messaging, when you are allowed to message again? is the block now on forever or a certain timeframe? moderator please help me on this. i send messages and they dont appear in my sent messages but they say sent message. i tried it with my friend and it did not go through. I can only talk to people that i have talked to in the past on this site. no more new people(unless that new person makes first contact, then i can talk to them) so how long is this ban on your account if you have violated the message limits? | |

From message #2 in this thread (copied here, below) one would assume per day means a 24 hour period.
1. Not send more than (4) four identical duplicate E-Mails per Day. 2. Do not use Banking Terms, such as "Account", "Bank", "Transfer", etc. 3. Do not use the ---> @ symbol in your e-mails. 4. Do not send Spam links. 4. That User has other Contact Restrictions per their Mail Settings5. That User may have E-Mail Blocked you. 6. That User's Profile may have been deleted. 7. Your E-Mail is too long.

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/10/2007 6:25:45 PM | | I have been having a slightly different problem. I send messages & the message does appear in my sent message folders, but when I try to reply to a message in certain threads (not every thread), then it does not post through to the thread. | |

| Sent messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/20/2007 4:55:22 PM | I just had this happen to me also - "Message sent" page, but not sent and the person doesn't show up in my contacts.
- It is not a "form message". It was also my first message of the day. - I went back to the profile and I should not be blocked by filters. I meet the conditions. - It was a "first contact" type message, and only about 3-4 lines (or ~150 characters), but I have a 6-screen profile as I say alot there. If I didn't meet the minimum character count from my target's mail settings, shouldn't I get an error instead of a confirmation?
I'm thinking that this has also happened in the past, but because the screen said "message sent," I hadn't noticed.

| Sent messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/20/2007 6:49:38 PM | Noted, but also trust me when I tell you I had no URL, profanity (including substrings of such words), etc....
My main complaint is for whatever reason, the system reported that the message was sent when it was not. That needs to be changed and/or fixed. Thanks.
PS: I've made other "first contact" messages today (afterwards) and those are going through.

| Sent messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/21/2007 5:19:13 PM | Yes I'm having the same problem..not sure if messages are going through or not it's very frustrating..no form messages. no profanity nothing..
I tried sending a message to a contact and it showed up in my messages, but any new ones i'm sending are not going through..why???/

| Sent messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/23/2007 4:14:17 PM | As far as I can tell, only about 1 out of 5 Sent Messages actually show up as Sent Messages. I've examined the latest one with microscopic scrutiny. BTW, I have years of experience doing both user support and customer telephone support and I understand that support people will always assume user error first. They are very reluctant to believe that something is a real problem. I can go through the list and maybe someone here will actually believe that this is a genuine system problem and not a user problem. From message 11:
1.) More than (4) Four Duplicate E-Mails sent per Day. No -- it was not a duplicate message.
2.) More than 40 new Contacts e-mailed per Day. No -- way under that, not even 10 emails.
3.) Do not use Banking Terms, such as "Account", "Bank", "Transfer", or anything else that could reasonably be expected to catch the Eye of the Site's Spam/Scam Filter. No -- no banking terms.
4.) Do not use the ---> @ symbol in your e-mails. No -- no @ symbol.
5.) Do not send Spam Links. No -- message did not include any links or urls.
6.) Your E-Mail is too long, exceeding approx. 7,800 Characters. No -- message was about 400 characters.
7.) That User has other Contact Restrictions per their Mail Settings No -- these are the contact restrictions:
Male -- check Age between 35 and 65 -- check Must not be married -- check Must not smoke -- chek
I meet all of the contact requirements.
8.) You have selected "Dating" in your Mail Settings and e-mailed another User with the very same Setting. No -- I have no email requirements checked. Contact matches my restrictions for age, no drugs, no smoking, and living in the US.
9.)You have made Reply to an existing E-Mail in your Inbox, but changed the Recipient in the To: Field of a User who has his/her Profile hidden, and does not have you on his/her Favourites List. No -- this was an original message, not a reply.
10.) The Site's System Filter has blocked you from e-mailing anyone who has set their Mail Settings to block those who have previously messaged others for Sex or Intimate Encounters. No -- this is not listed in the contact requirements.
11.) That User may have E-Mail Blocked you. I don't think so. How could a user block me before first contact?
12.) That User's Profile may have been deleted. No -- the user profile is still there.
13.) User/Execution Error. No -- the email feature works occasionally but not consistently. I don't do anything differently.
The message cannot be too small because I've tried various sizes. It cannot be a function of filtering because I've tried copying messages that were successfully delivered on previous days. These did not deliver either.
Conclusion: either there is some rule that is not public or the user has some restriction that is not showing up in the contact requirements or there is indeed a system error.

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 1/25/2007 8:03:39 PM | I have the same issue over and over again only to select users. I meet all their criteria and am not sending form mails or anything.
Yet nothing. It is now not even a question of trying to contact said users, now it is more my curiousity as to why exactly this is happening.
