In contest shape, it's a thing of beauty, but the big pimply offseason look is not all that appealing to me. I understand it though as I compete myself and I know I look much better during contest season. I guess for some reason it's more acceptable for a man to pack on the extra 30 pounds of fat in the offseason than a woman. I would not hesitate to date a female bodybuilder though as I love their passion and dedication. And hey, I don't know if any you have been with a woman on a bit of testosterone, but OH MY GOD! It's FUN! LOL! | |

Posted: 1/27/2006 7:05:09 PM | I am so glad to hear that your GF is 5'9" and 140 lbs!!!!!!!! I am 5'9" and 159 lbs right now. I was 165 lbs. At that weight I was at 25% bodyfat, and told by the gym experts that I was at the perfect weight. I still feel a little heavy, and am planning on losing 5-10 more lbs. I work out pretty seriously and my cardio is intense, so I have good muscle tone, I would just like more definition..
Does you GF work out much???? Or is she naturally slim and/or muscular?
What are her measurements???
P.S. I have found that most men are intimidated by a woman that does anything better than them. I have, in fact hidden the fact that I run faster or longer, make more, have more than the men that I have dated... | |

She works out daily either running (4-6 miles) or in the gym doing an upper body/lower body split. She is naturally slim, carries about 15% BF right now, which is insane for a girl to do naturally without proper diet.

I would much MUCH rather be muscled, hard, lean and tight than flabby and squidgy. I certainly wouldn't be interested in a man who had issues with my muscle or my lifestyle or with my intellect either. | |

Personally, I think a woman with muscle is a beautiful thing. My general opinion is the more the better since (1) most bodybuilders try to keep their bodies sculpted and proportional and (2) every ounce of muscle on a bodybuilder’s body shows hard work and dedication to their sport (and, in theory, they will bring these characteristics to other aspects of their lives, like relationships). If both persons in a relationship share that interest, so much the better – it’s just one more way to bond and support each other.
The topic reminds me of something that happened in the supermarket the other day. A couple in front of me was unloading their cart, and the girlfriend grabbed a 12-pack of soda and struggled to hoist it up out of the shopping cart. I remember thinking ‘if this was my girlfriend, I would be embarrassed to see her struggling with soda like that.’
Now, please, before writing a scathing response to that statement, go back and look at the IF part again. I have no problem with all levels of female strength, stronger than me, weaker than me, or anywhere in between. Personally, I can curl 70 lb dumbbells for reps, so most women fall into the latter category. IF I’m getting into a relationship with someone, I personally would want the gym to be an interest we share. I guess she could struggle with a case of soda, but it should only be after we have finished up our big bicep workout day at the gym!
…Oh, and it’s OK of those biceps are bigger than mine! | |

I think most men also find slender bodies with very little muscle most appealing (just my opinion, I may be wrong). Also, women who become muscular tend to develop other masculine traits in addition to physical ones, which I don't think would appeal to men. We are opposite sexes because we share similar attributes within our own sex, but are attracted to the physical attributes of the opposite sex. | |
