| Is not Camping a deal breaker for anyone? Posted: 1/26/2006 2:33:33 PM | "I was really surprised reading through all of the ads on this site, because it seems that 90% of women here want a guy that camps. It's odd because I don't see my female friends running out into the woods with tents all of the time".
The problem there is that I love to camp, but am not brave enough to do it alone. That's why I want a guy who likes to camp, so I can do it with him. My daughters aren't into it, although I do have a girlfriend or two who said they'd be willing, but I gotta say, it's waaaayyy more fun with a special guy!

does that mean that you wont marry me now summer?
Who am I kidding? I never feel like that silly symbol up there ^^.
Marriage is for the weak people who can't chase down a deer barefoot, bite it in the neck and crush its throat, and chew its hooves off as an appetizer--and that's just a part of camping, too.
Squirrly--there are some squirrels I won't kill on sight, but that's only because their guns are bigger than mine. For those, I use land mines. Watch where you step, cutie.

If they taste good, I'll hunt one down with a toothpick and Q-Tip. Right now, though, I'm getting a hankerin' for squirrel.

My family camps like that. My problem with it is....you could hotel it 50 times and
not have spent as much. Most of the year they just sit there. Seems a waste of capitol to me....

Yeah, I REALLY wanna eat that!

Squirrel is pretty tasty too. I like to shake and bake 'em.
geez you guys are brutal...mind you (looking at summer and chevy) there are countries that eat dog and cat too you know.
OT. camping out doesn't mean killing poor little innocent creatures too ..does it? Cos if that's the case then it could be a dealbreaker for me.

Naw, only beer cans and tree limbs should fear me while in the woods--oh!--and ticks. I pick those guys off and throw them right in the fire. I like to imagine that they scream while they burn.

Seeing the stars at night without the lights of a city to cover them up is one hell of a sight. Sometimes on particularly clear nights you can even pick out satellites here in Oklahoma--and that's cool.

| Is not Camping a deal breaker for anyone? Posted: 1/26/2006 3:00:56 PM | You know, I've taken women that were professed haters of camping from all over the world on horse pack trips deep into the wilderness and completely changed their pre trip horrified minds. Granted, with horses carrying stuff it's little different, you pay for luxury. Yet some horrified women that were almost camping virgins gained an enthusiasm for hauling their own load to lofty heights.
Campping has a great deal to do with my living. Camping is only as good as your tutelage and your experience. The right person greases the proverbial ropes for you and you understand time tested wisdom and basic common sense can make camping something for a lifetime of wonderful and inexpensive memories. If camping has s*u*c*k*e*d* for you tell someone Knowledgeable why and perhaps in short order they can be the resource you need to make it better all around. I might dig a snow cave Saturday night.
edit: Forgot, yes I have had to haul a psychopath or two a great distance and get them out of my life as quickly as horse or muscle power allowed. Some people will be a pain in the a*s*s in any setting.

| Is not Camping a deal breaker for anyone? Posted: 1/26/2006 3:02:34 PM | | best place I ever went camping was near a nudie beach in bordeaux, france in the middle of summer. White sands....heat....red wine..and the smell of suntan oil...made me forget all about the insects. | |

Yeah, right! More likely it was who was wearing the suntan oil that made you forget about the insects!
