| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/22/2005 9:40:02 PM | Does anyone know where I got this verse from Its been in my head for years And is probably not quite right
The wild regrets the bloody sweats none know so well as I For he who lives more lives than one more deaths than one must die strangers tears will fill for him pities long broken urn His mourners will be outcast men and outcasts seldom mourn
It was probably an English/Scottish/Irish poet

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/23/2005 2:03:11 AM | Longte... I did a search on several single lines of what you wrote there, simply because I have never heard it... and every time the match came back....
Disconnected lunacy-Ode to King County Jail
Here is the link to the poem and the information regarding its origin as well as the writter...

I read the lines you typed... its actually a pretty amazing write. If your gonna recall something, this looks like a d*mn good one to recall....

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/23/2005 2:33:47 AM | Thanks for that Cross Ive got a feeling its out of the middle of a poem and thats why it doesnt show up Ive been really tempted to build something around it
But Im sure I read it not imagined it

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/24/2005 9:10:12 AM | Hey, do any of you guys try and pattern a part of your writting style after a certain poet? Like Frost, Bly or any of the other umteen millions out there? Just curious.

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/24/2005 4:33:01 PM | I think that consiously or sub-consiously we would all do that to a degree Maybe not so much a particular poet as a poetic design/blueprint
I envy most of you here You can write in many styles I feel uncomfortable about mine unless they fit into my subconsious pattern
|
| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/24/2005 6:48:09 PM | By no means of the imagination am I a learned writer I scribble out my words much like the unorthodox fighter By doing what just feels right, placing words where they may Take on a life of their own, before they spit in my face and run away.
I've got my basic catch all "style" that I like to write in, but I need to play around every now and then, if for no other reason than to shake things up in my mind. (Gotta get the rotten apples out, y'know?)
|
| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/24/2005 8:01:20 PM | Cross... I think we all tend to take a bit of each poet we read from, now whether we write the same style is an entire different story.
I'm pretty much with Agent on this one except for the spitting in my face and running away..lol. I have a few different styles where the words just flow. Sometimes they don't so I write down the idea and leave it...only to return to it another day with a new aspect on what it may have become. Things grow as we do everyday.
I love this forum reading and sharing with other writers.

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/24/2005 8:17:54 PM | Forever and beyond , i Love this wonderous rock we live on Rolling year to year , on axis , from space we look like a ball of atmosphere From the ground appears flat , Never do we ponder , how we all are upside down Gravitational pull , to help everyone roaming all land Does scientific history prove to understand Or is Einsteen guessing with a pen in hand? Maybe subliminal , like a stratosphere of rocks , pulled close and stopped With a lamp to light up the globe , and lifes chance to explode All your questions answered , for those who already know If you stay on a stone long enough will it hold? Will we be the history forever told? Of course it will be We are so lucky Just to have a crack at life , while in its element If i had a title for this , readers would be intrigued Im after those gentle souls , Imagine all the stories told Watching nature and space , making like an origami fold Too much from Danny , Im Sold. Hope you enjoyed Daniel | |

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/25/2005 7:33:47 AM | Yeah i am pretty much with agent and newlysingle on that one.. with me for sure the words take on a life of their own and it like my emotions push me to write them down... i guess like Longte i cant write at the word go.. i have to feel it first and well sometimes i am just not feeling and i cant write... i find though that its easier to put down dark emotions than it is to put down lighter more positive ones...does this mean i am dark and dreary inside.. he he he lol
i love this thread thanks for starting it Cross..
all the best and much love ya'll..

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/26/2005 9:25:13 AM | Hi Everyone "i find though that its easier to put down dark emotions than it is to put down lighter more positive ones"
Totally agree The darker emotions seem to bring out both the very best and very worse in me anyway.
Any excess of emotion either way seems to open the floodgates

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/26/2005 10:00:03 AM | for sure.. its like they are just waiting to come out.. most of my poetry is derived from feelings that are somewhat supressed by something or other.. thats why i admire those that can write with a sweetness that i know i dont possess..funny but.. true..

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/26/2005 2:16:40 PM | I've been off for a few days....but visiting for a bit today..
Cross, in answer to your question about following a specific style of writting, I try desperately to create my own style (if that's even possible)
Sometimes I try to focus on the layout or word placement too much that it takes aways from the actual "work" itself. but then again I guess that explains why no one is paying ME for my poetry!
Great question Hun.....hugs babe.
|
| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/26/2005 6:10:46 PM | | Hugs back attcha ~Angel~. I know what your saying. I as well tend to adopt my own style. But I think I see different **stardizations involved in several of the things I do write though... ehh.. Oh well. LOL. | |

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/30/2005 1:13:46 PM | heres one for you Cross
Melancholy
No more pretenses, just defenses, Attacks of my senses is squelched thus leaving Me still with my chastity belt in check
Intact will be sanity and yet every time I look in the mirror, I see the loss of my Vanity, this is enough to cause me my insanity.
Staring back at me will be regret, who would have Thought that this life would grant me this type of bet. With this realization, I am forever indebted to advice, Hence ever feeling trapped in an episode of Miami Vice.
If this is what it takes for your grip to falter, alter my course I surely must, for an altercation is long overdue. Vacation of reality The juice of life, the realization enough to cause continuous hives.
The sun shines and numb climbs higher up the grapevines of calm. No harm done, just me stuck in tawdry glum, feeling mauve, when I need to feel love, Reds and blacks the colors of strife, I feel the need To become the melodramatic wife

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/30/2005 4:07:30 PM | Hi Cross
Do you know why you have writer's block?
I do it is because you are so focused right now on Holly and the time you will be together, don't worry when the time comes all your thoughts will pour out and I am sure most of the writes we read will be about your love and your happiness.....
We will wait and look forward to the day that happens....lol
just a thought...hee hee
Take care Miz | |

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/30/2005 4:12:11 PM | Hahaha... ya know what.. your exactly, catagorically and emphatically correct. I know that, just figured that all the other forums have heard enough about us... was just calling it writters block in here...lol. I have several already started... just gonna wait for the reality of it all to appear, then I can round it out.
Thanks so much Miz... your a doll!!!

| DEAD RHYMERS SOCIETY. Posted: 1/30/2005 4:19:30 PM | lmao I kinda figured you had some on the go, your words seem to flow so even if you had the blockage, I think one look at your lady and the words would come out again...
