Just because I am older doesnt mean that I am whatever it is that an older guy is, in your mind. hell I even still get carded at bars (by your dumb young boyfriends no doubt).
Oh and by the way since we are on the topic of age, I know alot more than your 25 year old boyfriend does in the sensual department of life.
This sounds like a bitter comment by someone who messages women younger than him because HE likes them younger but ironically doesn't like the same discrimination in return. However, if I am wrong, please correct me.
If you're messaging women your age or older than you and getting that response, then I apologize - you're right that's not exactly fair. If you are messaging women who are 30, that might be sort of hypoctritical. However if women are older and getting propositioned by younger and that's what they want, then you really can't knock em - same with older men and younger women.
And there can be men who are both great in bed at 20 and lousy in bed at 50, age has absolutely nothing to do with sexual experience.
Even I don't mind dating someone my age or older if they're young at heart, young looking, in shape and not set in their ways/judgemental about others. I got a message from someone today saying he was 5 years older than I listed but (and there is no but - I digress) he was a youthful 50. Then he proceeded to ask me if I liked to dance, when I told him I went to clubs and danced with girlfriends, he basically told me it wasn't really dancing and started talking about ballroom dancing, couples dancing and swing dancing and how that was more appropriate for the word.
That's judgemental. I like what I like, and he likes what he likes, what's with the pushy attitude? Maybe the fact that he's 50 has something to do with the difference in opinion. Is it just me? Specifically why I have that age limit. | |

There was a time when to ask a person age was very inappropiate .. right up there with "How much money do you make?" I think in most cases people are not comfortable with revealing their age ... age is not issue with me .... if I have a picture to view ..... which is fairly recent ...... well from that I can gauge as to whether that person is of interest to me! Posted: 9/5/2007 8:22:46 AM | it seems both genders do this, I have had a number of women I've chatted with on here where their stated age clearly did not match up with their photos..or their "real" photos they sent after contact, not the 15-yr. old ones on their profile.
to add insult to injury, when chatting, they lie again and tell me they made a 'typo' when 'entering' their age..
um, yea, OK..do I LOOK that dumb? as I recall when setting up the profile, you don't "TYPE" in your "AGE"..
you 'click' on your year of BIRTH.
riiiiiiiiiiiight, I can really see 'accidentally' clicking on a year of birth 10, 12 or 15 years away from your own.. ?
I've heard this line from 3 or 4 women now..please try to work out a better lie, if you MUST lie??

Many animals attempt deception, from the bird who feigns a broken wing to protect its nest, to the puffer fish who pretends to be many times its size. We not only attempt to deceive others but we do the same to ourselves. I’ve been tempted to sell myself (selling is what POF is all about) as a younger man, a richer man. I’ve been tempted to us Photoshop to remove wrinkles and add beef(dam good at Photoshop).It’s all part of survival. No big deal…. To balance this we have evolved to see through lies, from the shiftiness of your eyes to the twitching of your cheek muscles, things that we unconsciously analyze, searching for the truth. However the nature of POF allows folk to get away with lying far more easily. Many people are looking for immediate gratification, simply happy with the desired attention that lying brings forth today. This is human nature. Food on the table now. Worry about tomorrow … tomorrow. Have you always been honest to the tax man? Have you ever told the nice police officer that you didn’t see the speed limit sign when you meant to say was you never saw his dammed radar trap. We have all done it …except me of course.
P.S. For a small nominal fee I will Photoshop your pictures for you. I will enhance mammarys, reduce waistlines, dye your hair, add hair, remove hair, remove wrinkles, add a six pack… even wipe that silly smile off your face…have a good day… don’t take any wooden nickels… dang, I just gave my real age away. | |

Todays 40's and 50's is not the same as when our parents were that age...People are more health concsious and can look great at all ages...
If you look younger than your age why not be proud of that. Baby if you got it flaunt it..

There are lots of attached people on this site, look around. Why would I post a picture when I am not actively looking? I have lots of friends on this site that I met during that time when I was actively looking, and until the moderators ban all attached people from the site, I will stay around and contribute, thank you. I couldn't really follow your question to figure out exactly what you are asking me, but yes, I do think women who lie about their age are also showing insecurity. It is denying part of who you are. I am 36 and have never claimed to be younger, and never will. I really don't get where you think I am looking for a fight, unless this is just a touchy subject for you. Hey, I understand, we all have our hot buttons, but try not to let someone expressing an opinion get you all worked up. | |

Posted: 9/10/2007 11:57:51 AM | From my understanding men seek women who are attractive and women seek men who have power and status. (the proof is there for the reading) It is an evolved trait. Historically, just after leaving the trees, power and status came from the ability to physically destroy your opponents. To tell you that I am much younger than I am may cause you to think of me in a more attractive light (self deception yes…but almost hard wired) I may think that when you actually meet me and see how wonderful I am, age won’t matter. By actually stating my real age lower down in my profile I am being a bit more honest. My hope is that you find my profile interesting enough to keep your attention. Many of us “elders” believe that you stop looking the moment you see the age. (Perhaps if POF placed the age at the bottom of the profile this problem would be resolved)
On the other hand women deceive themselves in a different way. Some of you are guilty of using photos from a much younger time. You too are caught up in the evolutionary trap of the males preference for beauty… skin deep though it is.
Give the guy a break, simply point out to him that he is only diminishing his chances of finding “the one”. Do this and us guys should give the girl a break. Peace?

If you join at 42 and it is 5 years before someone meets you then they will assume that the age on the profile is right unless you have posted something in the forems. I just put a profile on MeOnYou . I dont lie but have plenty of girls in thier 20's contact me. Its the same on other sites too. It seems that too many people here judge others by thier age. More so than on other sites. You should see the photos that the young girls send me all the time. A lot of them could be models. They even send nude photos too. It is my personality that they are interested in , not my age. Guys.! If you want dates to get laid then i suggest that you also put a photo and profile on MeOnYou.. Don't pay for it. instead put in your profile that your not a paying member and ask the girls to give you thier contact info. You will be surprised at the responces you should get. Of course it will depend on how cool you are. Peace | |

Posted: 9/10/2007 1:45:20 PM | Simple, the answer is not because they want younger women or this or that... it is lack of faith, faith in themselves, the destiny to find or be found by someone. They are attached to outcome and must learn to let things flow, to stop trying to "make things happen" and just "let" them happen.
If a woman has an age limit on their profile, then there is a reason, a man should respect that and let her situation sort it's self out. She will then possibly miss the opportunity of meeting a man of her dreams just because he is one month over here criteria, BUT that is her issue to resolve in her own way and to learn that age is only a number.
Until individuals understand that they can't really control an outcome in the big picture, it is very hard to let go and surrender and enjoy all the good things that just come naturally. Everyone should just relax a bit and not be so superficial about a number, we can still insist on physical attraction, but the attraction is strongly driven by personal depth, so lying about age can never lead to anything that is deep.
Also leaning on pure physical looks without seeing depth will have it's own shortcomings. This is why people keep bumping into trees and wondering why.

no, no, no...you do not type in your "age" and then it stays fixed for all time..
you CLICK on your "Birth date", and the system automatically calculates your age..computers are really good at that kind of stuff. ..subtract the stated birth date from the current (today's) date..get it?
on the day/month you stated as your birth date, the 'age' will automatically go up by one year, on the stated birth date and for each day after for the floowing year, until the next anniversary date of your birth (or what you input as you birth date, anyway..)

3. Maybe they look young enough and think they can get away with it.

I might have a little forum crush on Tossed Salad - the name sometimes disturbs me a little, but he tends to have a lot of the same opinions I do, and he's adorable. : ) If nothing else he's fun to look at and he's got half a brain - that's extremely rare in general, especially on the internet. It's good inspiration.
OT - I had a guy recently e-mail me with a different age in his stats then in his profile. I basically told him I noticed it, and then gave him advice that women would see it and avoid him. And he looked his age...you can be whatever age you want, but in the end - it all comes down to attraction. So if you're 57 and you want t0 be 50 to be seen by younger women, and you still look 57, it ain't gonna up your odds. But knock yourself out. | |
