no offense to men, this is directed at the ones being truthful...... but in alot of cases men dont age well, blame genetics, bad health habits, too many bad sunburns, and too much sun overall. all this coupled together can make it "appear" as if men lie about their age. so if he's bald naturally at the age of 32 and all or some combination of the above is in play, it will make him look as if he's lying.
the above can also be applied to women(generally the bald thing affects men and not women however)
of course the admitted liars are exempt naturally | |

Posted: 9/11/2007 11:31:27 AM | I met someone from this site, who , I found out later in the day, lied about his age, which he was actually about a decade older than me. It's not that I have anything against older men, but the fact that he lied was what put me off. I still don't think that he caught on that he let slip the "real" year he was born ... oh well... a "lie" is still a "lie" to me, regardless of what it is about. I am not ashamed of my age, and don't want to be around any "liars" either, which it clearly states in my profile !
Oh, and I think Tossed Salad is a "cutie" too !!!! | |

Posted: 12/30/2007 6:28:54 PM | I find women lying about age and body type all the time. I'm honest w/ 54 and most have settings at 50 or lower so I get overlooked because they think everyone needs Viagra. I have yet to meet a woman who can keep up w/ me!
FWIW, a size 14 isn't average unless you're over 6' tall and a size 20+ isn't a few extra lbs.! Athletic is also <10% body fat and always toned!

Posted: 12/30/2007 6:59:41 PM | I have noticed that guys that lie about their age do lie about other things. It is strange because they think it shouldn't matter, but it does matter. I think you should be truthful from the start.
I don't go out with guys that are that young. I have dated guys that are like 26, but it is like being with one of my son's friends. I like older men and seems like as I age, the age of the men go up too.
I hate when I read, "my friends all tell me I look much younger" or "I act much younger." Geez, if they didn't say that they wouldn't be your friends. And I act much younger, ok, then you are immature?
One guy has, and I know him, that he is like 98 and in his profile says he is 46, that no one ever guesses his age. Geez, he is 50. It is like lieing on top of lieing.
I lived the amount of years I have lived, no less, no more. How I look is how I age and I try to eat right and exercise. I do what I can. That is what I look for, honesty, and all that minus the chips. | |

They only leave a two to four margin from there age. Some men look old for there age.
So if a women knows a man thats 50 that looks old they think all men at 50 look old. I agree that it's hard to start off with a lie, but some women won't even give you the time of day if you fit in her age group wich she beleives is to old. | |

I find it frustrating when men's post the wrong age on their profile. For starters, that man may never come up in your search if he were being honest. (most likely a good thing) a potential relationship started with a lie?
Some people treat online dating less as looking for a good mate and more about getting the "best of the best" that they can obtain. So they'll lie or do anything to get the date.
Even when you notice the guy is trying to get sex with you ASAP, it might be him looking for a notch on his belt, or to get you emotionally attached. Had some tell me in life that the sooner you "seal the deal", she'll become attached to you and won't easily dump you for someone else.
Same deal if the age lie is discovered...or an income lie. He/she is hoping if a relationship is established then you won't be so quick to end it even if the lie is discovered. Plus if someone dumps another because they lied about their income, they can cry "gold digger".
I agree it's not good to lie, but dating now has become such a search to fulfill the "checklist" that people are willing now to do whatever to get what they want. | |

I'm going with the "trying to entice a younger woman theory." Like someone won't figure it out eventually. If they lie upfront about something as simple as their age, chances are, they will lie about most anything! | |
