I guess this is a Mars vs Venus thing because it's a known fact that WOMEN do not age as well as men. Women who smoke age horribly! Have you ever kissed a prune? On the other hand, the majority of men age gracefully. For one example, just look at George and Barbara Bush. The majority of men do not have ED either. Most men can function naturally into their 90's and never get a headache!! That is why men seek younger women!
Why do some men put 'athletic' on their profiles when they OBVIOUSLY are not. 
(this is why I explain in mine that I am petite... inbetween athletic and thin...but, not really either of them... even though I am well toned. I don't want to deceive anyone when meeting them out).
You Sir... are not the actual meaning of 'athletic' judging from your photo.
Why do some men have sunshades on and can't see their eyes? The wrinkles maybe.
Most men do not function naturally into their 90s. Some do.
What the 'internet' has done is to bring those few delusional men into REALITY. The women have more choices and don't feel the need to feed the male ego anymore. Women, in general, have been conditioned via Society to accept men period...while...at the same time, Society has conditioned men to believe that younger women will flock to them for monetary security. Common sense tells us that. I'm not saying anything to be mean spirited or jealous like some men like to think the over 40, over 50 women are.
Times have changed drastically and the internet has a lot to do with that change...especially in the world of dating. | |

Posted: 2/3/2008 4:47:24 PM | That's hilarious. Men aging more gracefully, are you kidding? Nothing ages a man faster than no hair my friend. And most men do not function "normally" past 60 let alone well into their 80's.
I'm not sure if they're lying about their age, I haven't had that experience yet, but one I've had a few times is men who lie about their height! If you really are 5'11" and I am 5'7" then I should not be towering over you in 2" heels! What, did you think I wouldn't notice? I'm sure men lie as much about their height as women do about their weight.
The other thing they have in common is they are all looking for an honest, meaningful relationship.  | |

But the weight lying thing is something to consider, today’s average is much heavier than years ago… so you may not be lying.
· Women aged 20-29 were nearly 29 pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
· Women aged 40-49 were about 25½ pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
· Women aged 60-74 were about 17½ pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
· Men between the ages of 40 and 49 were nearly 27 pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
· Men between the ages of 50 and 59 were nearly 28 pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
· Men between the ages of 60 and 74 were almost 33 pounds heavier on average in 2002 compared to 1960.
Check out your BMI …
Now let the lying begin… I prefer skinny to thin…! As I have not allowed my body to grown to today’s average. | |

As it was explained to me a few times by women that have manipulated thier ages to reflect younger.
1) age they post is more reflective of how they look and their personality.
2) so to fall in a differant age group when people are doing searches.
Although, many won't agree with this practice , It makes sense to a point and I personally wouldnt hold it against someone, just as long as the person tells thier true age before the SECOND date. | |

I'd date a guy out of my age range that was straight about it than someone who was in my age range and lied.

Not being snide or mean... but, rather, blunt and honest... judging from your pics, I would guess your age to be approx. 55.

Of course I do admit, that I sometimes don't want to accept the truth that I shouldn't ever have dated someone too young for me. Heartbreaking reality does eventually hit I guess. I guess all of those years spenton the water in the Southern California sun has taken its toll. Coupled with premature greying (since I was 28) I could see how I might not look my age. When I was 17 and could buy the beer, that was a good thing. Now it's not so good.
I find it more frustrating that people don't believe other people. Like some others have suggested, the truth will come out eventually, but damn when you're my age, why would I lie? | |

Women today age very well. Lots of boomer generation women took note of what healthy lifestyle choices could do for you, way back in our twenties we were playing squash and doing aerobics, hiking, canoeing, cycling ... as we aged we took up other physical interests to keep fit. The result is the expression "fifty is the new fourty."
Sure if you smoke you're gonna wrinkle before your time - male or female! And I don't get the comparision to Barbara and George Bush - you're not seriously suggesting George Bush senior is a good looking man? C'mon dude! He's ancient!
Men seek younger women to try and block the sinking feeling that they're getting old. They like to think the 'still got it' (even if they never had it when they were younger) and the proof is in a much younger woman. Sad thing is, she's more often than not just attracted to the things an older, established man can GIVE her. Guys in their 20's don't usually have the same kind of cash that an old guy has, and they're not so willing to spend it on baubles and good times - they want a gal who can split the tab with them. But the old guy is just so grateful to have the young gal to squire around, he'll drop loads, and she knows it. When I see a beautiful young woman walking arm in arm with a balding, paunchy old guy, I think it's a fair trade - she's selling youth and beauty, and you've got the cash to buy it. Fair enough - but don't kid yourself that she's attracted to YOU. It's your wallet she is interested in. | |

My bmi is where it should be and know that I am thin but not athletic, so hey, I do mark average.
I don't lie about my age, but man, sometimes I do wish I were younger because some of the younger men are too hot, but hey, some of the older guys are off the charts too. Personally I don't like someone who lies about their age because if they lie about that, what important things might they lie about? | |

I often flirt with men much younger than I am, too.....and they flirt back. Happens all the time. Just because they flirt back doesn't mean they think I'm in my thirties anymore. I'm not delusional or a big enough egomaniac to believe they are doing anything BUT flirting casually with a 43 year old woman. | |
