Of course you can only be 'in love' with one person because it is the initial stage of a longer term evolution or metamorphosis of emotions and caring.
Being 'in love' is part of that initial spark and attraction. Some call it 'infatuation' others call it puppy love.... that is if it doesn't last.
If those involved find a lasting attraction, then being 'in love' remains and grows into something deeper. Much deeper and kinder and more calming.
My personal experience has been 'falling in love' is like cooking spaghetti. A guy can prepare the sauce from scratch, but if the noodles don't stick to the wall.... you ain't got nothin' but sauce...
... ok, lousy analogy, but the point is falling in love is easy because it's natural... primordially natural.
Wart hogs fall in love... well, they do.
But what sets us apart from wart hogs, and the rest of the animal kingdom, is the ability to realize a good thing and try to make it last.... even if it means working really hard at it.
That's what relationships are... wart hog lust with long term planning. ;)
While my friends are far from wart hogs, even if they were and I held the feelings for them that I do, it'd all be the same.
I just happened to 'fall in love' several times and nutured each 'infatuation' to a fully matured love.
No, it wasn't easy.
I'm not superman by any means. I simply respect, support and adore them and keep everything honest and upfront.
I think that's all any of us want or need. Honesty and repect with a little nuturing and protection.
That's all I offer. For this, I have the pleasure of the company of my very best friends.
I am blessed that these women accept me.
