| Tourists vs Bikers who likes either???? Posted: 7/1/2007 8:44:42 AM | I live in Columbia and my family owns a place in Surfside. Harley Bike week is my favorite time to go to the beach. I don't know what decade this person is living in but it just goes to show how ignorant people are to bikers and their way of life. Sure, there are a few ignorant groups who treat women as property, and all that but there will always be a few bad apples in every bunch. The biker lifestyle is not that way anymore. And if you'd taken the time to go out and talk with some of the bikers and biker women you'd know that's not true. Get real. As far as the noise goes, if you don't like noise, why the hell would you choose to live at Myrtle Beach? Ignorant people like this are the ones that are ruining bike week for the rest of us. Additionally, someone made a comment about the difference between Harley and Black bike week and believe me, there is a HUGE difference. The black bikers are younger and cause a lot more trouble and leave a lot bigger mess. A lot of the businesses at MB won't even open during Memorial Day weekend because they don't want to have to deal with them. And I don't blame em. I have a friend whose parking lot was full of bottle glass, she found broken crack pipes, used rubbers, and a whole bunch of other nasty stuff. Not to mention the 400 pound women who seem to think it's okay to wear a thong propped up on some poor fool's crotchrocket. So at the risk of sounding like a bigot, whatever, the truth is the truth. Bottom line is, if you don't like the wild lifestyle, don't live at Myrtle Beach. Always has been a party spot and always will be. If the bikers bother you that much, then go on vacation somewhere else that week. | |
