Posted: 2/13/2006 5:59:46 PM | hmmmm...funny this thread should be here as the first line of my about me in my profile is 'if you don't like women with tattoos then don't bother reading beyond this point.'
I have a lot of them and also didn't get my first one until I was 30(and I'm going to be 47 in a couple of months)...a friend of mine once asked me what I would think about a particular tattoo when I was 60 or 70 and I said I'd look down at it and think that is one cool tattoo...I love tattoos mine and a lot on others(male or female)...I like piercings too but only have a few...am definately more into tats
all of my tattoos are where they are for a reason and have personal meaning to me(oh, ok then, two on my back are purely decorative...but they are meant to be a frame for another tattoo I'm going to be getting in the future)
people who get tattoos because they think it will make them cool or their friends all have them or some other meaningless reason will most likely regret it at some time and should not get one
and to Shell(I think)I too like scars and am thinking of getting one on one of my hips. I just have to come up with a design I like and will fit into the scenes I'm getting up the sides of my body...and to the person who thinks that people who get tats are into pain(at least receiving) you obviously don't have any or have a very low pain threshold
yes to each his own...everybody has an opinion on this and is free to voice it but leave the attacks it just makes you look stupid and immature

ummm in my defense it was an attempt at humor although a poor one at that....and as for the obv..all ya had to do was check my profile and you would have seen that not only do i have a tattoo but im friggin covered...as for the low threshold for pain...you are correct on this one account...so much so it causes me great pain to even read such mindless drivel that i must now bow out of this topic and get an asprin...but one more parting shot befor i go...reasons and opinions for and about tattoos are like **sholes everybodys got one some are nicer than others but im pretty sure yours stinks...

I saw the word FAD written in one of the comments. Well i had my first tattoo done at 17 and gave into peer pressure at 19and had two removed. One of the most painful experiences of my life and totally against who I am. The proof is that i now carry 5 tattoos and a full leg.
My tattoos are part of who I am and if people don;t like them then please feel free to NOT look.
Like most people withhard core tattoos they all have deep meaning for me so before you judge try to find out what it is that makes that person make such an open statement about themselves you might learn something and gain a long lifefriend as well.

Yes it is the superman logo...but reasons being are that well DURR ! afterall it is a letter S and my name is Sheree "SHE" ...and 2nd reason as to why i got it was the week i told my EX husband i am leaving him i fealt pretty bloody SUPER... powerful infact.

I'm content with natural skin. A dolphin, cross, snake or dragon doesn't make me horny. I've never seen a woman yet and said, "Damn, she'd be hot if she had a tattoo". I have said, "Damn, she phucked up a nice looking body. She'd be hotter without them tattoos".

I would love to get a tat simply for the experience. But that would be it.
Right or wrong tats impact people's perception of you. You have to be very careful about that.
My former neighbor got the best tat after her divorce. It is on the top of her right butt cheek and it is of Fred Flintstone. Right above Fred it says "YABBA DABBA DO ME"  | |

I put them there so I could cover them up, if I need to. One I love a lot, a butterfly. The other is horrible, and I am going to get rid of it, with a chemical peel. It takes a lot longer than laser, but it doesn't leave a scar like the laser does.
That or I will have it covered with something else.
With the laser removal, it leaves a scar in the shape of the tattoo. | |

The first one I got with my mom and it always reminds me of how close I am with her. The second stands for my belief that life always gives you what you need, and that in everything that happens there is some good. Sometimes though, you have to look really hard to see it. My third tattoo represents adventure, something that I would hope I have lots of by the time I die.
My tats are fairly feminine tattoos and I doubt that I will ever have cause to regret them. When I'm old and saggy, they will be a reminder of the fun I had when I got them, and that can't be a bad thing. | |

I have 14 tatts and counting. Some are very obviously (upper arms), and some are very classy (ankle), some have a special meaning (mom with a carnation on the side of my neck, kids names on the back of my neck), some of for very few eyes (boobs, back)
Different strokes for different folks.
I rarely get negative comments. I have my eyebrow, nose and nips pierced too.
What I find hilarious is that people think Im so ballsy and in your face and I'm actutually quite shy.
It's how I express myself I guess......in a way ??? | |
