| Does Anyone Else Get Depressed On Or Around Their Birthday?
Posted: 9/27/2006 11:41:42 AM | I do remember feeling depressed when I turned 30. That was because I was unmarried and wiithout children, I thought that life had passed me by!! Well, I prayed to God for a husband year after year until I realized that He must have other plans for me! REMEMBER GOD ANSWERS ALL PRAYERS, HOWEVER HIS ANSWER SOMETIMES IS .." NO"!! I came to accept my "singleness" and went on with my life thanking God for the people in my life that truly love me.. God does not plan a mate for everyone, Jesus Himself ,died on the Cross and did not leave behind a widow and children!! I am now almost twice the age of 30 and still unmarried and childless. I tell everybody that everyday of my life is a holiday. I celebrate everyday because I bask in love the love of God, family and friends and walk in love for God and my fellowman every moment of my life !! I could choose to be happy or sad, I choose to be happy!!!

I like cats but not that much so I have already decided to just get a dozen of those taco bell dogs cause they are small. I will be the single scary dog lady.
I have happy in life already though a significant other and kids and all that jazz will be nice one day. | |

Posted: 12/2/2006 1:33:51 PM | My birthday is two days before Christmas .. that is reason enough to get depressed. It always falls on a Christmas/break up day so I can't take the day off work, if I have a party people are always too busy. But I have worked out a formula.. lol
If my birthday falls on a weekday no point in having a party, everyone is too busy with functions, parties, shopping. If it falls on a Saturday I can organise a party. This year it falls on a Saturday and for the first time I am going to treat it just like another day, no party, and indulge in a full body massage and spa treatment. Now why didn't I ever think about that earlier.
BTW I even thought of going away on my birthday, I can't even do that because of Christmas. But one day I may just surprise everyone !!! lol
 see I even have to compete with Xmas emoticons .. lol | |

Posted: 1/8/2007 2:54:10 PM | 2 years ago, as I aproached my 35th birthday, I started to really contemplate my life.
I realised that I was turning 35 ans had accomplished much less with my life, than I had once expected to accomplish by that time. Also I realised that statistically, many people who are still single by their mid 30's, stay single.
Thinking about it sent me into a bit of a depression that took quite a while to recover from. 2 years later, I haven't really completely gotten over it.
My 37th is approaching, but I'd rather prefer to not even think about it. | |

Bring on next yr, I'm ready, Thanksgiving thru Jan 1. SUCK for me, no family to speak of, but come Jan 7th, look out, that my day to celebrate. And no I didn't go out and get hammered.
It was just an all around great day. Next yr will be even better. Like yourself, you'll LOVE your birthdays! JMO | |

Posted: 1/8/2007 3:02:59 PM | depression is a fact of life. If I were depressed only on my birthdays, I'd be very happy. that's just one day a year, no big deal.
somewhere, you still have time left to achieve many things in life...me, the more I think about it, the less I want to achieve. I want to be the average joe who lived a simple life ( not paris hilton's of course ) and one day will step into nothingness. since nothingness is basically our fate, I'd be happy with that one achievement.
