| Where did you meet your last boyfriend/girlfriend?
Posted: 7/19/2007 10:12:56 PM | Thru friends always seems the best way and that is how i met my last one........came close to one from on-line but to no avail. Think about it though, a person's options are greatly increased with on-line dating but it seems when someone gets a good catch they pause and think to themselves.................."Do i toss this back into the dating pool and see if there's even a better one out there OR how about I multi-task and date a few at the same time and have some sort of competition for my affection!"
Nothing is wrong with on-line dating it's just i think some people are becoming more confused of who they should settle down with and see on a regular basis. | |

I did the most rediculous things to see him..(shift work)...like leave my phone there so i had an excuse to see him while he was working..!!! it was sooooooo rediculous..!! anyway there was a work break up thing on..and i went...when he showed up..every one else thought it was sooo strange..cause it wasnt the norm for him...later he told me he only came cause i was there..!!!! How cool is that..!! still gives me shivers up my spine 5 yrs on..!!!! i love thinking about that..!!!!!!! | |

Posted: 7/20/2007 10:03:11 PM | | I was at a conference in St. John's, Newfoundland and one of my friends met a couple of guys with the Coast Guard whose ship was in dry-dock there. There were a lot of women at our conference and lots of guys on the ship so we set up a meeting of all interested parties at a bar on George Street (famed street of a kagillion bars). Saw his nice ass and great legs and had to start up a conversation. Ended up sleeping on the ship...lol. He ended up moving from his home in Nova Scotia to Alberta to be with me. Lasted 6 1/2 years...too bad I refused to see that he could not stop or even cut back on his drinking. The crack thing was the last straw. | |

My friend and I were making early New Year's Resolutions and one of them was to give up dating men who we knew weren't right for us. This group of guys were having so much fun and dancing, I asked if they were having a bachelor party or was it a b-day. As I was talking to him, the soon to be bf came over and butted right in. Then I was dancing with the friend (we were just having fun together) and the soon to be bf cut into the dance.
Didn't make it make to my resolution. Should of met him after the New Year... | |

As it turns out he and I had graduated the same year at the same high school 15 years earlier. It was a huge school and we didn't know each other back then. The last one, my ex wife, was a really funny story.
We worked together, on two different floors of the same building. She was attracted to me, and I had not much of a reaction. She dressed rather strangely, in a much older manner than most women did there. It was kind of "frumpy". 
A mutual friend, and older woman that worked with her, heard her talking about liking me over and over again. One afternoon, she simply said " Do you want to go out with this guy on a date ? "
She said yes.
As I was sitting in my office, the phone rang, and her friend said " What are you doing tonight ? " Since I knew she was in a relationship, and she was MUCH older than me, I was initially a little stymied.
I figured SHE was hitting on me ... 
When the confusion cleared up, and she told me why she was calling, I agreed to a supper date. When the ex phoned back, my BOSS answered , who had the same voice on the phone as I did (many people got us confused).
She said "So where do we go for supper ? "
He said "I'll have to check with my wife.... "
( She had a hard time looking the guy in the face for a few months after that one.)
The best part of this entire thing was that her best friend (a woman) who worked with me, HATED me. She was like the mongoose to my snake.... She only found out that we were a couple about FIVE YEARS later.
We went out on that first date, and it continued for the next seventeen years, until our divorce. | |

Posted: 8/3/2007 8:40:51 AM | I don't know if I'd call him the "love of my life" just yet, but I met the guy I'm seeing currently in the airport on my way home from visiting my family in Illinois. Met him on Sunday. We've been on two dates thus far, and have a third planned for Saturday. I was *thisclose* to closing my PoF profile for dating anyway, because I was getting fed up with finding people I had no true connection with. I stick around for the forums, but I replaced my profile info with the story of how we met.
I met my "important exes"... hm. One at school. One at a fundraising carwash for my high school choir (he was one of the singers' brother). THe last two through mutual friends. I can't really call any of my exes the "love of my life," either, because what I had with them was kinda... well, superficial. None of it was very deep (though I was engaged to some of them) and the feelings waned FAST when the relationship turned sour or ended. It just looked exactly like what other couples who were "in love" had, so I thought I was "in love" with them. But true love doesn't just fade out like that, or so I'm told. Things feel very different with this one, though.. a good kind of different, so I'd like to see where it goes. | |

I have been dancing for over 35 years and when I divorced (after almost 22 years of marriage) 14 years ago ... I went to the local singles square dance club for socialization. I met him there, but he was in a relationship with another woman (also a dancer).
When that relationship ended, we began dancing together and became a couple. We were a couple for almost 5 years, but I ended it when I discovered infidelity. I have no tolerance for that and he knew it, so I have to assume he was ready to move on? | |

The one before that was kind of a strange situation......After losing my home and everything I owned,due to a room mate catching my house on fire, My daughter and I became homeless and a friend of mine introduced me to her daughters father and said he was looking for someone that he could trust to move into his apartment to be there with his things because he was a truck driver and was going to take a new driving job to LA which would allow him to spend all of his off time with his ex that had to move there for her career. So we moved in and we ended up becoming very close and fell for each other . We were together for 4 years ...... | |

Before him, I was with a guy for 3yrs who'd been a friend of a friend...wonder why my friends don't seem to have as many hot single friends anymore!? | |
