| Where did you go on your last vacation?

last vacation was a Last Minute Deal off of travelocity to San Francisco... had a great time.
next vacation will be April/May to the netherlands (mainly amsterdam) and france... debating between spending may 8th in Paris for the big Liberation Day events or in Orleans for the events surrounding the Liberation of the city... by Joan of Arc.

I only wish I'd seen New Orleans while I was down in that quadrant because it's low on my list now along with North Korea and Kyrgystan. | |

Posted: 2/24/2006 10:48:08 PM | | September 2005, spent 1 month driving and campervan'ing in New Zealand, solo with my nearly 2 year old & 4 year old. I would go back in a heart beat. I didn't get to do half the the things I wanted to, for such a small country it has so much to offer! I didn't like Auckland very much, but the rest of the trip was absolutely amazing. My 4 year old still talks about sand tobbagganing at Cape Reinga, off the biggest sand dunes I've ever seen. | |

Posted: 2/24/2006 11:56:53 PM | my last trip was 4 years ago, i went on a student summer exchange! best tiem of my life! i went to Austria! i unfortunately never learned how to speak german before i went, although everyone there did speak english i just felt bad they had to speak english all the time for me! but it was a truely great trip, i drinking age is 16 over there and i had just turned 16...so you can imagine the fun i had! but besides the drinking, the sites were amazing, i went to alot of castles and cathedrals! i went to Wien a few times and saw this gorgeous gothic cathedral! absolutly gorgious! and it was right next to a modern day building of all glass, the contrast of the two was great! while i was in austria we drove down to Italy for the day! that was just amazing! wasn't expecting that, we went to venice! oh so beautiful! i have seen picture of there, but nothing compares to the real thing, undescibeable! i would love to travel more of Italy! i hope i will be able to fullfill that dream! | |

Posted: 2/27/2006 8:24:48 AM | I travel quite a bit with my work to major cities, so when I travel for fun, it is generally to some hometowny kind of place with a river a bed n breakfast and a county fair. Amost every weekend I go somewhere...
re-enactment season is here - so I will be putting on my uniform and giving mouth to mouth as a war nurse or jumping in and out of foxholes as a soldant.
Went to upper NE Ohio for family a few weeks ago, spent a week.
My last real vacation was last year. Canoe'd the Elk River and camped.
The vacation prior to that was going to an Indiana Amish area.
Prior to that, flew to San Francisco for a couple of days and rented a car;
drove to Reno and Tahoe for a few days of R & R.
Went for just a couple of days last Christmas to a Spa in Hot Springs Arkansas.
That was nice and relaxing.
Am ready for a long distance trek - anywhere. | |

Posted: 2/27/2006 4:22:06 PM | | In November i went to Thailand for a friends birthday...had a blast! I also got the opportunity to go to the old capital (Auyttaya), what a place to see. Celibrated the Loy Kratang holiday also. Did some dancing and had a great time. | |

Always too short but oh-so-important when you live in the great white north to escape, even for a very brief moment, to a southern destination when lack of sun starts unleashing your inner inclinations for wrestlesness...
My boss told me one day I could take a week off (within the next two weeks) if I was so inclined. I was! Went online and booked a one-week all inclusive in the Dominican Republic (Cabarete). Left the following day...:
I couldn't find anyone to join me on such short notice, but packed my bags (not forgetting my hammock~~~of course) and left.
Had an absolute blast!!!! Danced every night away until the sun came up, spent my days either relaxing in my hammock, trying out kite surfing, swimming in the humongous waves, meandering the streets of Cabarete and just literally soaking in every moment...

Posted: 3/6/2006 12:34:37 AM | I went to Cuba in March of last year and absolutely loved Havana. The people and the culture is just amazing. I recommend the Rum Tour. lol
I then took the kids to Melbourne, Australia for 3 weeks in April/May. We had a great time, the only thing I regret is not spending more time there to see other parts of Oz.
I don't know where to go this year, perhaps Mexico or Hawaii. | |

Had an absolute blast.....loved the resort, the food and the drinks.
If you want a laid back quiet place, Cancun isn't for you..lol
Coco Bongos and the party cruise is a must do in cancun.
I hope to get back next year when things get back to normal after hurricane Wilma. | |

Posted: 3/21/2006 6:34:11 PM | took a vacation for 3mths(2005) from ontario to alberta(calgary,edmonton) to vancouver Is(sooke tofino) then off to the yukon(whitehorse,dawson city,kluane national park) and alaska(chicken,skagway, tok,fairbanks,arctic circle),then 5 day boat trip down the inside passage to prince rupert,terrace(salmon fishing==skeena and copper rivers)if you ever have the chance and your canadian,you really need to go to the yukon,breathtaking views,leaves you speechless. | |

Posted: 3/22/2006 12:27:29 PM | Lithuania - a tiny pimple of a country on the shores of the Baltic Sea. It was great. I got to meander about the countryside, checking out unusual sites - like the Hill of Witches in Neringa (Curonian Spit)...
I went in July 2005 and going back this year as well.
I like travelling, checking out new locations and experiencing different cultures. | |

Met and visited with relatives, went up to the Arctic Circle and experienced 24 hr daylight, and discovered that it was HOTTer than I ever expected (weather). The Medieval city of Tallinn is wonderful to explore as is St Petersburg Russia, although getting the travel visa was a time consuming pain in the backside. | |
