Posted: 11/1/2007 11:03:58 AM | OK, I'm going to take a stab at this get together thing. I propose that we have a party a Shucker Oyster Bar out by the Ross Barnett Res. in Jackson on Saturday Nov. 17th, starting around 5:30 until..
It's got a casual atmosphere, good food, lots of room, live music in the afternoon and usually a pretty good dance band that starts about 8pm.
That gives us two weeks to figure if you can come or not. Let me hear from those who want to come and any who want to help organize. Send to my profile or respond here.

Kenneth thank you for attempting a get together. Just found this portion of the site . I'm on the the gulf coast. I wonder if spring may give us time to get word out, find a spot that is central to those interested in attending, and explore group rates for accommodations. I'm also willing to help organize the event.

Here I thought mississippi was dead and boring because I came from Chicago, but that is not it , it really is just mississippi. | |

Posted: 9/22/2008 2:12:02 PM | I live in Northern MS and we have a BoBos bar here, although I don't like it alot. There is also a Ben's Place in Olive Branch. Now that is a great place!!! Good food, good bands and people over 35 go there. They have changed ownership, but haven't come up with a new name yet. The casinos are also a great place to meet people. I don't gamble, but the bar stage at the Gold Strike ALWAYS has a great band there. I've heard Gabby Johnson, Lean Green Music Machine, Almost Famous, Trigger Proof and many more. There is no cover and if you wanna put a couple of dollars in the poker machines there at the stage you get your drinks for a buck. Good security and everyone really has a blast. | |

Plan to be more active with it. We just need to get the word out. I also think it is great they have get togethers for the singles really looking forward to the one in Southaven in November. Maybe this really should be a once a month thing. Who knows the turn outs maybe better than anyone thinks. | |
